"I can take it down to 4 real quick, using that charm spell. I can tell them I changed my mind about the wine. Once I get two of them, we knock out the other four. It's like we are doing a public service."
"Well four on three is better than six on three, but bandits probably know their business, and aren't keen on getting bandited themselves. And while I admit to being curious as to WHAT they have in those wagons that's not wine, if we take it from them, and there are patrols looking for the stolen goods, and we've got 'em... that's not a good look."

"Kinda irritated that they even entertained the thought of robbing us. Well, I suppose if we pass a patrol, I wouldn't mind putting them on their trail.", Korrik says with a grin.

"It was pretty bad form. I mean, look at us! Other than myself, do we really look like we have much worth taking? Turning them in is a given. Next patrol we see I am going to explain that we barely got away from them before they could trap us."
Busren prestidigates his pants clean of horse hair, which he has been doing for a while now.
Ess breaths an obvious sigh of relief as Ben speaks, and they finish the rest of the leg to Helm's Hold.
The entrance to the town looks like this, but picture the sky much brighter and a nicer day overall.
It is late afternoon. Once you get through the gates, you see that the town entrance is busy but not crazy. The main focus of this place seems to be the huge cathedral in the center of town. Helm’s Hold has always been a place of healing and protection for the people of Faerûn.
There is a large inn that you can see which is conveniently located at the front gate to the town. It also has a stable for your horses.
I am not sure how much RP you guys want to do in H.H., but I am good with just skimming it and paying for the 'comfortable' level inn stay plus anything you want to eat plus 5sp for the stable rental. Plus breakfast cost.
Oh, did you guys want to try and shop in this town in the morning before we start day 2 of the trip?
There might be a place to try and sell the potion. Very low chance though as this place is smaller than Neverwinter. Someone can roll a straight d20.
There are magic shops with basic potions as well as some scrolls. There is a less chance of them having super interesting things though as this place is smaller than Neverwinter. And I want to try and get away with being able to buy magic items a lot :). But there is always a chance. Go ahead and roll another straight D20.
There is no hat or luck stone for Ben here though. There are definitely weapon shops if you needed any last minute changes.
Let me know what you guys want to do and maybe split those d20 rolls?
Ben, there is no hat of disguises in the city and the shopkeeper doesn't know where to get one.
Korrik, while there are a few different alchemy shops and other general stores that trade potions and vials, no one has the funds to cover what it's worth.
.....unless you guys want to take less than half for it. You are lowballed but not in a malicious way, the storekeeper more or less is taking a shot in the dark offering what he can. "Hell, I'll give you 200 gold for it. 'Tis all I can afford."
((thanks for doing the math Spider! I have removed the amount from Ess's sheet as well on the google sheet.))
Let me know if you guys take the deal. Ess doesn't care either way, although he has joked more than a few times that he wants to try the strength potion himself to see what it does.
Ok, next morning. Today, it is overcast and raining. Not hard, but enough to be annoying. I don't think anymore animal handling rolls are required at this point. You've just rode a day with these horses and initially got the issues out at the start of the ride. They know you guys now and trust you. The horses were also fed great meals in the stables as it was a nice place. They will have to eat later when you camp though. That might be interesting as well when you camp how the horses are at night. Maybe some AH rolls will be required at night to put them down to sleep. We'll see depending on where you camp. At the end of the day, you will be near the capital 'R' for High Road, on the high road on the Sword Coast map.
So you will be travelling south today, and you will have to camp in the late afternoon. We will discuss the specifics of that after we get another d100 roll. Let's say whoever reads this post first and gets the roll locked is the one I'll use.
((Korrik's in agreement on the potion. Save it for now. In an emergency, it would probably do the most for Ess, but if he's been joking about 'trying it out', I think maybe Ben should retain possession of it.))

"Guys... one of us should just chug it tonight when we camp and see how big of a tree we can rip out of the ground for fun!"Ess jokes as he is continuing to enjoy the newly found comradery with you both. (he would do it, though.). He would give it to Ben if asked, and if he has it to begin with.
Ok, you guys get a few hours south, further away from Neverwinter and so the traffic here on the high road is thinner.
You all notice it at basically the same time. A carriage lays sideways halfway blocking the road. It appears mostly intact.
You also see what looks like parts of broken statues scattered on the ground.
That's all the initial data you get as you approach.
What checks would you like to make, or would you like to simply ignore this and ride around it?
((Ess will follow your leads, and will likely make the same checks as you guys do and/or ride around and leave. Him and Betty are bringing up the rear.))
"Hey, what can I say man, the treatment changed me, bro!"
"Oh man... I dunno. I mean I know we can all handle ourselves, but I think there were 6 of em, wasn't there?"
"Anyways I'm down boys for whatever you think is best. If you ask me though, I say we keep moving."
"What do you think, Kay?"
The treatment has also taken away Ess's nerve apparently.
"I can take it down to 4 real quick, using that charm spell. I can tell them I changed my mind about the wine. Once I get two of them, we knock out the other four. It's like we are doing a public service."
Ben please roll a persuasion check.
((I might as well get on the PvP rolling train like you guys))
Persuasion: 7

Ben, Ess shakes his head. "Nope. I don't like it."
Ess will of course go along with the plan to potentially ambush them, if both of you wanted to do it, but ultimately would rather not.
Busren casts a long, lingering glance back at the wagons as they become ever smaller.
"We could just take the money they have on them and a few smaller choice... Ah never mind. Let's get to Helm's Hold."
"Kinda irritated that they even entertained the thought of robbing us. Well, I suppose if we pass a patrol, I wouldn't mind putting them on their trail.", Korrik says with a grin.

((Unless someone really wants that potion I think we should try to sell it.
Here is the d20 for the magic items: 19.
Poor, poor Ben will never get his hat! The luck stone is just something that is nice to have for anyone.
Spider can roll for the potion selling.
Otherwise I am fine for just spending the night and heading south.
Edit: Paid for the stuff.))
((Potion is of limited use to Korrik. Rare that he'd want/need STR over DEX. Potion roll: 6))

"No, thank you for the offer. I think we can do better."
