Ash properly smiles when Ben calls down... “Ha!... I’m sorry, Korrik!... oh haha! But it was pretty silly!... Were you going to jump out and scare us?..... Oh my, if Ben hadn’t of noticed you, we could have ALL jumped you!”. A little more relaxed, she giggles to herself as they head up the stairs.
"It's alright Ash! I'd rather you be ready to defend the crew at a moments notice than have someone else get a drop on us! It's another thing I just figured out, I hadn't got a chance to try it more than alone in my room, figured it would be better to do with friends than breaking it out for the first time in a fight or something. Kinda forgot about about your magic eyes, guess it doesn't hide me from that. But, if you didn't have your magic eyes up, would you have thought 'oh, that crate probably has a halfling inside'?"

Ash nods respectfully beside Korrik on the way up, “Well it had me fooled!...”. She looks sideways at the halfling to check he’s not too sore that she shot at him.
He seemed a bit shaken at first by the wood getting blasted right next to his head, but no harm, no foul, and he was kind of asking for it, so if he catches her glancing at him, he'd give her a grin back.

Ess says to Korrik"Dude... come on man. That wasn't cool, bruh. Enough with the jokes my homie. Let's go." and he kind of shakes his head in disapproval and follows Ben up the stairs. He would also look around up there. Perception: 19
Ben, you can see once you get up the stairs that there are a few doors to the east and west hallways, and another hallway heads north as well as the large balcony where you can see the first floor entrance. You do not get any magic pings up here.
Ess says "Umm dude... that floor does NOT look good. God damn dump I tell you. Be careful." he would point to a spot about 10 ft west of the top of the stairs. The section of floor can be jumped over without a roll and since Ess has seen it we won't even mention it again as he tells all of you about it.
Map is updated! Sorry it looks so dark, it is definitely still daytime!
Ben will head right and check the rooms for magic before checking the doors to the left and finally the last corridor to the north, he will avoid the spot Ess identified each time and keep a general ear for sounds of movement in the rooms before opening them.
Perception: 12
If combat doesn't start during that he will suggest,
"We start looking in the rooms to the right? Remember that other weak spot Ess spotted in the far right room means a weak floor up here."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Good plan”, agrees Ash, tiptoeing behind Ben. She’s keeping light on her feet, and is testing the floor first, before each step. And she’s of course completely avoiding the portions of floor already pointed out as dangerous.
She keeps her own lookout for additional dodgy-flooring too, (and anything else that might present a danger). She has both daggers drawn...
Ben, you scan the hallways and rooms before opening any doors, and no magic is detected anywhere. Up that north hallway you see the stairs going down into the kitchen below. You all avoid the spot that Ess saw in the floor, and Ben you open that first door on the right.
This bedroom has no furniture, but rubbish is scattered everywhere, and webs cover the walls and ceiling. From the doorway, you can see a glint of light in the fireplace from a small, highly reflective object. You also see two more huge masses of those spiders in this room. The webbing is attached to most of the fireplace. You haven't disturbed them or anything like the last time with the brick, so they do not just bolt to attack you as spiders don't do that sort of thing. They sense you've opened the door, but they don't move.
"Agreed. Though it looks like they have some of our treasure, so there will be reckoning. Unless you think your box trick can get you in there and get whatever is out?"
He moves on to the next door and looks in, and if nothing stops him, does the same for all the rooms.
Ash shudders involuntarily at the mention (and the sight of) more spiders! She is pleased to see the door close again and for the party to move quietly away...
"I don't think it'd work... if they go to climb the box, they'd walk right through and climb me instead. And I can't make creatures, so couldn't make like a predator to scare them off."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The door closes without any trouble from the 2 big clumps of spiders. "Yeah screw that noise, man. Not worth it. Probably a silver piece or something."
Ben, you open the next door in the hallway.
This room appears to be another dirty, decaying bedroom without furniture. Even viewed from the doorway, it’s evident that the floor in here does not look safe; some of the floorboards are missing, and others are partially dislodged. (there is no risk to fall though, since Ess has already spotted the rotting floorboards when you guys were directly below this room).
Anyone who enters this room, please roll an investigation check.
Ess would go in and take a peek. "Damn, there's that shitty floor, watch out." Ess investigation: 7
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"But Ess, that is our silver piece."
Ben doesn't want to have to recast magic eyes again but will quickly and efficiently investigate the room avoiding the weak spot before moving to check the west/left from the stairway up rooms for magic.
Ash, you creep into the room, and just see the junk.
Ben, when you go over to the window, you notice something interesting. A combination of the position of the house and the topography of the cliff results in this room (and this window in particular) providing the best view of the sea from any part of the house. On this window sill, you notice fresh scratch marks on the sill like something was dragged across it. There's also scuffing of the floor dust immediately near the window.
You zip out of there and do a quick scan of the other rooms you've mentioned using your magic (but not opening any doors) and you get no pings.
"Dudes... this makes no sense. I thought there was supposed to be treasure here according to that stupid scroll? Or something like that? And wtf was that mouth thing? I can't wait to go down there and see. Betcha the other magic spot is another stupid mouth. Maybe it's some punk kids playing with magic hiding out in this dump? Anyways, the lot of it is a clusterfork if you ask me. But hey, beats being ratty!"
"Hey. Can I kick open a door again? Felt good. You guys pick the door, and I'll kick it. hahahahaha"
I'll wait to update the map for now.

Ben calls down,
"My fault Ash, I should have tried to hit Kay with the rock myself! Honestly Kay, what was the plan? Best case we ignore you, worse case we stab you."
