Once he has scoped things out he will go to the he two women in the cavern and say quietly to them,
"Hey, did you leave your footlockers open? Saw they were both open."
He starts walking and waving for them to follow muttering,
"Probably the sporking hobbies."
Assuming they follow he will bump his elbow hard against the door before he opens and curses as he does open then steps in and let's them in to see their open footlockers.
Once they are in he closes the door and snuffs the light for the fun to start.

Ben, both of the women follow you. "Are you forking serious Will? For fork sakes. Yeah, come on. Let's go. You should be on dish duty anyway. Who's even watching the barracks right now? C'mon man."
"Let's go, Ruth. Stupid Hobbies'"
Ben as you enter the barracks, you make your described noises to the others, and the two women see the footlockers. "Ah. Yep, those blasted hobbies. Wide open they are."
That is the moment you shut the door and snuf the lights and is when initiative will start.
The two ladies will be surprised for round 1. They also can't see in the dark, so will have disadvantage on attacks should they try any in round 2. I think they will somewhat realize that you are all in the barracks during round 1, but will still be surprised given what has happened in the moment. Can you let me know that I have all of the icons in the right spot before we start?
((About the OOC chat - this is a bit meta, but yeah this same trick of continuing to lure a few out at a time will get old quick with this bunch.))
Both of the woman frantically wave their arms around in the air, surprised at the instant darkness.
Ess is up -> ((what did you tell him to do before the women entered? I'm sorry if I missed it in the OOC! Are you guys planning to KO these ones too?))
((I was thinking behind the stairs (to the north) if it's a solid thing, if it's not, then probably still there, but as Korrbox. We konked Willard, might as well keep konking?))
((I agree, our plan was to KO unless we we couldn’t. I think we can. Not too bothered about exact locations if we surprise them in the dark. The current map suits me :-) ))
Is there any way Ben can jam his sword in the door to keep them from opening it in the dark? If so he does that then moves north, disengaging if the jamming didn't take his action.
He will just club Ruth in the back of the head with the hilt of his rapier.
Attack: 17 Damage: 9
((Just looked at the picture of the secret door again and read the description. It's a bookshelf on this side, not really reasonable to stop from working with a rapier. Probably should have considered people running away before!))
On her turn, Ash will move to attack the one that everyone else has gone for. Drawing her second dagger in the dark as she moves, she will attempt to *clonk* the woman on the head twice, with the hilt of her daggers...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ess hearing the signal from Ben and then seeing the women come out of the secret door and then the lights go out - he rushes forth and tries to smash the closest woman on her head with the hilt of his longsword trying to KO her using two hands to bring down the hilt on her head.
Attack: 24 Damage: 13
*THUD*. The hilt hits her head. "OUCH!"
Korrik, you crack the same one that Ess did with your staff, hard. *CRACK* and then your elbow also connects to the face. *CRACK* She remains standing.
Ash, you come in and finish the first woman off. Your dagger hilt almost collapses her temple... but she is just KO'd.
(the woman closest to Ess is KO'd)
Ben, you also use the same clubbing attack against the remaining standing woman. Ruth. *CRACK*. She still stands.
The woman screams at the top of her lungs and tries to indeed run away back into the caverns. She disengages from Korrik, but Ben will still get an attack of opportunity here which you can take now.
I will pause here to let that AO come in. This will be key. The other people in the caverns might not hear her if you're able to KO her when she tries to leave. Maybe only one person or something, and it wouldn't be clear.
If she does manage to get away the 30 feet while screaming and yelling, you can bet most of them in there will hear.
Have at it with the AO Ben, and I will continue this tomorrow morning!
((If Ben is standing in the doorway, she'd not be able to enter his space, so would have to expend an action to shove him out of the way to get to the door, which is closed and would need to be opened?))
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack

Not trying to be rules lawyer-y at the sacrifice of story, but if she disengages, she doesn't take and opportunity attacks, it's not just from a single target.
If you take the Disengage action, your Movement doesn’t provoke Opportunity Attacks for the rest of the turn.
However, you can move through ally spaces as long as you don't stop there (either at end if turn, or pausing to make an attack, etc) by treating it as difficult terrain. You can only move though hostile space if they are two sizes larger or smaller (as a halfling, Korrik can move through the space of anyone larger.)
So if Ben's in the way, blocking the exit, she'd not be able to just go through him, the DMG provides alternate ways that she could try, however.
Overrun
When a creature tries to move through a hostile creature’s space, the mover can try to force its way through by overrunning the hostile creature. As an action or a bonus action, the mover makes a Strength (Athletics) check contested by the hostile creature’s Strength (Athletics) check. The creature attempting the overrun has advantage on this check if it is larger than the hostile creature, or disadvantage if it is smaller. If the mover wins the contest, it can move through the hostile creature’s space once this turn.
Shove Aside
With this option, a creature uses the special shove attack from the Player’s Handbook to force a target to the side, rather than away. The attacker has disadvantage on its Strength (Athletics) check when it does so. If that check is successful, the attacker moves the target 5 feet to a different space within its reach.
Tumble
A creature can try to tumble through a hostile creature’s space, ducking and weaving past the opponent. As an action or a bonus action, the tumbler makes a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check contested by the hostile creature’s Dexterity (Acrobatics) check. If the tumbler wins the contest, it can move through the hostile creature’s space once this turn.
They all would require an action to make the check, however, so unless she can spend a bonus action to disengage, would take opportunity attacks.
But as always, if the DM says she gets away, she gets away! 😄
Flavoring it as her evading Korrik at the expense of putting herself at Ess and Ben's mercies is cool stuff too!
(Have to raise the 'objection', so when I try to pull dumb spoon with Korrik, I've got proper precedent. 🤣🤣🤣)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
All very interesting stuff and some of which I had forgotten and/or overlooked. Thanks as always! :D
My initial thought was that she'd disengage from Korrik (that's why I had said you didn't get AO) and then still have Ash and Ben get one. I didn't realize that when disengaging you don't take ANY attacks of opportunity. Which I actually totally agree with.
However, I think that Ben indeed would be standing in the doorway. I am not sure why or how I missed that. Maybe I was thinking she'd go diagonally past him... but that just doesn't make sense if it's a secret door, and it's closed.
Also thank you for showing those options from the DMG!
So - let's rewind her turn a bit. Hopefully you guys are good with this. She actually isn't going to disengage or try to escape at all. It is dark, her comrade just got KO'd and she's now under attack. She's been hit once already. She's panicking. She is going to use her full action to scream frantically at the top of her lungs, and I am going to roll a straight d20 to see how loud her screams and yells are. The higher the roll, the louder her scream. I will bump that against that other woman's passive perception that is in that cavern with the hobgoblin and see how this shakes out.
Once he has scoped things out he will go to the he two women in the cavern and say quietly to them,
"Hey, did you leave your footlockers open? Saw they were both open."
He starts walking and waving for them to follow muttering,
"Probably the sporking hobbies."
