Ash is breathing hard, having just managed to scrabble free and away, clinging on to life by just a thread!
She looks worse than ever. Numerous puncture marks are visible all over her body, from the humungous bite. She’s covered in blood and mud and grime from the marshy conditions, all matting her fur.
She looks up, just in time to see the giant frog crunch it’s jaws down around Korrik and his body go limp!! “Noooo!…”, she screams.
Instinctively, she drops her other dagger (free action?) and pulls out her crossbow. Standing her ground, and Steadying her Aim, she waits for the perfect shot, and fires a bolt towards the giant toad…
Bonus action: Steady Aim (to get advantage and sneak)

Korrik, you every so slightly fade in and out of consciousness, seeing the large toads wet mouth around you, and then darkness. This repeats, and you manage to stay more on the conscious side than the unconscious. (1 success, 0 fail)
Ash, your crossbow bolt hits the toad in the head. (-16). It crashes to the marsh landing right beside Korrik's unconscious body. It's dead.
The frog leader seeing its mount get shot seems very desperate now. You get the sense it is going to fight you until the death. Its frog underlings on the outside though... they look terrified when they see the toad get killed.
The leader leaps in the air, back closer to the party, and takes an evasive stance.
Ess says "Nice shot Ash!"and then he moves forward beside Korrik's body, past it and directly in front of the frog leader. "Aaaarrrrggghhhh!" he yells as he runs forward puts his bow away and unsheathes his longsword. He swings at the frog leaders head (who is dodging). He's trying to protect Korrik's fallen body and putting himself between the leader and Korrik.
Longsword swing, 2 hands like a savage: 9 Damage: 7
He stumbles. His swing misses and Ess gets his balance after the miss. He's now right in front of the leader.
((I will update properly later, but in the meantime, Kay's attacks do not kill the leader. Almost, but not quite. Only the last foot attack hits. So Ash can go in the meantime, and then I will update!))
Ash sees Korrik come back from the dead and unleash a whirlwind of blows against the frog leader. It looks like it’s reeling from the fight, but so is Ash…
She shouts at Ess, “Get down!!…”, ((some cover?)) raises her crossbow again, just barely enough to aim, relying almost entirely on the force pure instinct. She attempts to Steady her Aim one last time… and fires!…
Bonus action: Steady Aim to get advantage (and sneak)

((I made an error! Spider reminded me that the leader has been using his weapon with 2 hands, therefore not using its shield. So, Korrik actually drops the leader, although Ash's crossbow bolt makes 100% sure the thing is dead as the bolt completely enters the frog's brain.))
Ess and Ben are up. Ess would try and scare away the remaining frogs by shaking his sword at them. They are going to try and leave regardless now that their leader is dead, so I'm not going to roll the intimidation check. Actually, I will, just for flavor.
Ess trying to scare the remaining frogs away with his longsword: 4
They are leaving because their leader is dead, not because they are scared of Ess. LOL
Ben, you are up. If you don't attack the frogs or do anything else to them, they are going to retreat into the marshland and combat will be over.
If that happens, what is next?
"FORK bro Korrik are you ok my man?"
He'd go and check on him and Ash, too.
"Fork should we just go back to town? That was rough. You guys think there's more?"
((Moot point with Ash shooting like she is, but wasn't keen on going down again if he made it to his turn!))
"Good job Ess. You tell 'em. Snag me any of my darts you find out there."
A tried Korrik leans against the body of the toad that almost made a dinner of him.
"I've gotta break this habit of almost getting eaten. You missed that Ash, but since I joined up with these two, I've nearly seen the inside or a crocodile, a basilisk, and now a really big toad. And those crabs were giving me the hungry beady-eyes too. Guess that's what happens when you're the snack sized one."
"I reckon that broke the will of the frog folk, unless they've got someone bigger and uglier to whip them back into attacking, I think they'll stay clear. I'm not up for dancing with lizard queens just yet though. Search 'em and fall back? At rest up a bit, decide if we want to ask for an audience tonight or in the morning?"

Ben sends the frogs off with a few parting gestures then wanders over to see how Kay and Ash are doing.
"You three look bad, and yes you need to stop looking so tasty. Spit Ash right out when he saw you.II know who to have around should we meet a kraken."
With a look north to the cave he sighs,
"I agree that the queen is out of the question but I am not enthusiastic about trudging home. Perhaps, after we search these... Frog things we can camp near the beach and try early tomorrow? No fire is probably best but perhaps the wind will blow away most of the insects?"
He'll help Ash get clean with prestidigitation as he talks knowing she, like himself, values cleanliness.
Ash is delirious and still on the brink of death. After she unloads a bolt into the already-dead frog-king, she redraws the string a couple more times, firing at it again and again. But forgetting to load a bolt each time. ‘click…. click….’.
Then she drops the crossbow just because her hands can’t hold it any more. And her legs can’t hold her up, and she falls to her knees and over on to all fours.
She sees her red dagger on the floor and picks it up like she’s seeing it for the first time, then she stands with the last of her strength and retrieves her white dagger from the giant toad’s body and her black dagger from over by the trees. Snatching them back up like someone had the audacity to take them from her or be impaled by one of them.
Once she has her priorities back in their sheathes she manages to get a grip on what just happened and says to Korrik, “You saved me!…. You were dead!….“.
She let’s Ben clean her wounds and fur. Deep down she’s thankful but right now she hardly registers it.
She asks no one, ”Why did no one from the town warn us about the killer frogs?!…”.
A bit cleaner and with her weapons stowed, she agrees with the plan. “We rest… And see how we feel in the morning!…”.
“Barstools!!….”, Ash swears. ”Well I’m glad we didn’t have them in tow when it kicked off!… … Who’s to know whose side they’d have been on in that brawl?!”. She spits blood onto the floor, and retrieves as many of her bolts as she can, while Ben searches the bodies.

Giant Frog, FrogsBen keeps the nasty tune up, as usual Kay is taking a break in the middle of a fight.Dissonant whispers DC 14: 17((Actually, changed my other mind. If you'd be so indulgent Klein, ignore the above.))

"Again? Get up!"

((no problem))
Ben, the frog leader shakes its head quite violently in reaction to your words! (-4, disadvantage next attack as well)
You then yell over to Kay... (+6)
The frogs around the perimeter see the battle potentially going south, so over half of them decide to flee. They use dash and jump away 40 ft.
At the same moment, you see Korrik rise up with life.
Ben, this bit all happened so fast that you aren't even 100% sure if it was your magic that brought Kay back to life or if it was his own willpower.
Nevertheless, he's back!

Kay flips up to his feet, wiping off some blood from his mouth.
"You forked up, frog face."
