"Perhaps you should mix up your story a bit, doesn't seem like picking on the brave halfling who saved Ash's 'ash' went over so well with the audience. Perhaps a bit of humility on your part would find better reception!", Korrik teases Ben, before clinking mugs with him and grinning.
He will definitely take her up on sparring, he's been getting faster and more sure in his strikes, but feels like he could do more. If he had, that frogman wouldn't have stood a chance!

((so it is the 1,400! Apologies again, I totally forgot about the deal. SO yeah, that'd be 350 split. Added to Ess's sheet.))
Ben, even these sharper lizardfolk don't seem to understand your desire to keep the double agent part unspoken. They agree of course, but with a confused look. They might speak to each other in draconic for a moment, chuckle a bit and then say back to Ben"Yes. Just the heroes! Ok." and then they'd never speak of the 'Marshswamp double agents' again during this trip.
Ben, you were more tired than you initially thought. The performance was awful. In normal circumstances, you might be booed off the stage and in some places which you may or may not have frequented in the past you would've been straight up attacked for wasting people's money!
But not in this place. You are a hero of Marshswamp, after all. The crowd tries to not make you feel bad by trying to get into it as much as they can. The bullywug bit is pretty unbelievable, it seems all disjointed and forced and awkward. The crowd gives a respectful clap at the end, and given your status you'd still earn 34sp and 21cp in tips. Hanna doesn't give you any extra coins this time, and she says to you "Ben, you look *ahem* you must be exhausted. Why don't you just retire for the night? I'm afraid I'm not going to be around tomorrow, spending some time with a dear friend whom I haven't seen in ages. The stories I will have for her! Anyhow, come by later in the week and we'll talk more about the weekend away." and she gives you a half smile and leaves. (the performance put her off this evening).
Ash, the next day or two (or when the party gets back from the lizardfolk lair, but just adding it now for simplicity) you'd see a response from Fiddnot where you left the message for him about the upcoming war. He acknowledges and agrees with you and will keep eyes on this space. He also left a bit that the two of you should meet in person soon to discuss. But not yet. When time is right. (I think we may just have to do another sidekick at some point!)
Ok, so once you get into your rooms and retire for the evening and get the sleep, you all officially level up to 5!
I will update Ess's stat block later today. He just gets the +1 prof. I won't RP this one too much other than Ess takes the time on this evening after he's cleaned himself up to stand in front of the mirror in his room and kind of talk to himself as he does some new flexes. "Yeah bro. You're the MAN. Forkin' HERO. Yeah Bro. Forkin WEAPONS DEALER bro. Yeah. You are the MAN." and he continues this for a bit before he gets tired and goes to bed.
Feel free to RP the level up, but totally up to you!
I will get the trip back to the lizardfolk lair post out later today.
"That was... probably the worst performance I've had since I played at that inn of yours Kay. Everything was off. Besides, my roll in the story was completely accurate! I'm certainly not going to underplay my deeds."
He looks after Hannah a bit forlornly but understands and is really too tired for another 'performance' anyhow.
He does consider Kay's words, and the generally negative response as he prestidigitates himself clean before bed. He repeats to himself things he could have said during the song then thinks back on what he motivated the party with during the bullywog fight. He mumbles as he falls to sleep,
"I need to know your audience." He snorts, "Well I certainly know those three 'heroes' well enough..."
He falls asleep, dreaming of piles of gold and beautiful, important people listening to him and doing what he tells them. A smile crosses his sleeping face as he dreams of the Council of Waterdeep passing him the key to the city.
((RP for the D8 on bardic and more often, at least with his teammates.))
Ash responds to Korrik over her breakfast, another glass of milk and a selection of meats, or something, “Yes, I think everything is going well… Very well!… … But the ambush in the swamp really shook me. I think we got lucky in the end… It could have ended very differently!…”.
”…If I hadn’t have gotten grabbed up by the toad…. And you wouldn’t have had to rush in.. and… … I’m sorry.. I mean… Thank you… You saved my life…”. She looks down sad and then back up with a resolved smile.
Tucking back into her breakfast, she says, “Yes, sparing would be a good use of an hour maybe, while it’s still early”.

Korrik blows Ben a kiss.
"That's not my job though, Ben! You've got everyone else fawning over you, it's my job to keep you grounded!"
His face sobers for a moment.
"Seriously, thanks man. I've been throwing myself into danger probably more than is healthy for me, but it's only cause I know you've got my back. I keep 'em off you, you pop me back up if I need it. Though either one of us getting swallowed by that toad would have suuuuuucked."
After breakfast, Korrik will head out into the yard, or wherever they can find space. He limbers up a bit, then holds up his hands, leaving his staff leaning against the wall.
((Rolled with disadvantage since I'm assuming at least to start we are wary and dodging, and sort of giving each other a chance to make some attacks? I also missed in looking at level 5 for monks that his unarmed die increases from d4 to d6! Sweet!))

Korrik blocks and avoids Ash’s strikes, then follows up with a solid jab to the nose, and a headbutt that takes her by surprise, before she spins to avoid a vicious kick. ((Uncanny dodge will always be on the fist clean hit so as not to game PbP, Ash takes 2hp + 10hp (total so far =-14hp).)).

Korrik sidesteps the first strike, and catches Ash's sleeve on the second, bringing her arm down towards his rising knee before releasing and sliding his near hand up along the underside of her arm to get to the armpit, then pivoting to strike with his other elbow in the kidney.

Korrik’s knee just barely connects AND she manages to roll away from the worst of the damage (uncanny dodge for -5hp), but the other two strikes hit her square before she can recover (-5hp, -10hp) ((total = -34hp)). Reeling from the beating, Ash redoubles her efforts…
Attack action: Attack: 24 Damage: 5
Bonus action: Attack: 27 Damage: 3

“You beat me fair and square. I was on the back foot the whole time. Those strikes are relentless!!… I’m just glad we’re on the same side!”. She winks and goes in for a hug. Then looks round at the few who maybe had congregated to watch, before packing up, ready for the day…
Using the forgery kit to make some false documents of ownership for the silks. What's the roll for that? ->
From what I read, I think an INT check makes the most sense, with the proficiency bonus added due to the kit. In the case of a fail, you can attempt it again the next day, or later in the day/evening should an opportunity present itself. You'd need an hour I think. These silk ownership documents are pretty standard, so it wouldn't take too much time although for fairness sake let's just allow the two checks max per day and they have to be separated unless you have time in-game. Ben needs to clear his head each time or something. So Ben can roll the first attempt in the morning while the others spar. Ben, you notice that Hanna isn't working this morning and her business partner is running the place while she is away visiting a dear friend.
Oh is it too late for Ben to have gotten a peek into the safe they kept the ingots in? What else valuable did they have in there? ->
Ben, the safe only contained the ingots, but there are 2 other safes in the council hall which were closed along with the one that was being used to store the ingots.
During breakfast, Ess would've chimed in "Yeah man getting swallowed would've most definitely sucked!! We will be ready should the frogs or anything else for that matter try and ambush us again, bros. Especially me. I will be ready. Sparring?! Heck yeah dudes I want to spar with ya's. I think I need the practice given the frogs... I'll be better next time, you'll see. Although dudes I did get a few good go's in yeah?" and he kind of goes on about his 'performance' in battle probably longer than he should with a little flexing of his forearms before he joins the sparring session and leaves Ben to his documents.
((still have to update his stat block, but didn't want to hold up the game any longer!))
((That sparring session you guys did was awesome!!! I'll do Ess's rolls as well just for fun and will say that he asks Kay to spar with him.))
Ess's attacks (including latest prof. boost) will include single handed attacks using his sword, trying to slap Kay with the flat part of the blade each time. He also hopes Kay can send some attacks towards him so he can work with his new shield a bit more.
Disadvantage
Longsword slap: 9 Damage: 3
Straight
Longsword slap: 24 Damage: 6
Advantage
Longsword slap: 24 Damage: 3
"That was fun... thanks, Bro."
Oh, yes Ash, this sparring session did attract quite a crowd! "oh look, they're TRAINING!" "Wow!" "Ma, go get Dad, he's missing it!"
12:30PM - The Docks
Ben, Ash and Ess are all rested after the sparring session. The party has eaten lunch at the Snapping Line Inn. Meal is comped as usual, although you could tip the inn if you'd like. Ess actually starts to do that. He hands the waiter a gold piece in an awkward way after lunch. he means well, but it's awkward. "Uh, here bro. I got lots! I mean... yeah.... here bro." (coin removed from his sheet.)
Ok, we have the 3 original lizardfolk who were on the Sea Ghost now reunited with the higher ranked ones that came back to Marshswamp. You hear them have a conversation in draconic and it seems the 3 originals get scolded, but after awhile everything calms down and they prepare for the trip back to the cave and board the ship.
There's also a captain of the ship from Marshswamp and 2 guards on board. The council didn't send anyone else but is again onside with everything that is happening and will await further instruction and communication from the lizardfolk in regards to the alliance. They will expect the sea ghost and captain and guards back to Marshswamp over the next few days and then will likely set up a larger meeting with the entire council and the entire lizardfolk government to finalize the alliance.
The cargo includes the original smuggled weapons.
There are no encounters on the way to the lair, and the trip takes 3 hours.
4:00PM - Lizardfolk Lair
Without getting into too much detail, the ship arrives and docks, the lizardfolk disembark and then more come back to help unload the weapons. The Queen eventually comes and she would take you all to a room which was much nicer than when you were first here. To save time, I think we can just say that Ben along with the 4 lizardfolk reps go over everything that happened at the council hall and that Marshswamp will likely be a part of the alliance against the Sahuagin. The details of the alliance will be discussed with the council members and the queen at a date to be determined, but definitely within the next few weeks if not sooner.
Of course now after that, the Queen orders someone to go get the half payment up front for the new weapons deal and gives it to Ben. "Trust is essential for relationship to work. I trust you now. You return my agents and also my weapons. Yes. I also now keep my promissssse."she clunks down the 27 electrum ingots. They are in reinforced bags.
So they are paying 2,715 gp (54.3 ingots) 27 up front, for those weapons and armor, specifically. They are expecting those numbers exactly. So if you end up deciding to supply them and decide to purchase the weapons somewhere else at a cheaper (regular) price, you'll have to get exactly what is listed in the deal.
Leather can be swapped with hide. She'd also take rapiers vs. scimitars (she's got some pretty talented fighters in her roster who can use those 'finer' weapons)
She then asks "When can I expect the order, Ben? I will need them as soon as you all can provide them."
She then looks at all of you and says "Also, there is a quest which I wanted to ask you about now that you've returned. Let me explain."
The Queen would then explain the following quest and ask if you would be interested in helping.
Queen Othokent tells you all a story about a creature the lizardfolk call Thousand Teeth the Devourer.
When the lizardfolk returned to this long-abandoned lair, they soon discovered that a giant crocodile prowled in the marsh nearby. Crocodiles are sacred to this tribe and they regarded its presence as a good omen. The lizardfolk have much experience with crocodiles and thus perceived it as not dangerous. Their complacency was shattered when the giant crocodile attacked and devoured three members of a lizardfolk patrol that had paused near its lair. The difficulty facing the lizardfolk is that they cannot attack the crocodile, for its kind are sacred to them. Since the first attack, matters have grown worse. The giant crocodile has attacked lizardfolk engaged in routine patrols of the marsh, killing and eating many. Because the crocodile’s lair lies close to a possible route of approach of a sahuagin attack, the lizardfolk dare not leave the area unpatrolled. There would be no violation of sacred taboo if the party were to kill the giant crocodile on the queen’s behalf. In fact, the queen demands the head of Thousand Teeth be brought to her so that she might add it to her collection.
If the party agrees to solve the tribe’s crocodile problem, Queen Othokent offers them 2 flasks of swamp water mashed with various roots. (2 potion of superior healing).
Thousand Teeth’s pool is located along the Dunwater River, about twelve miles inland from the lizardfolk lair.
The party can choose between a direct overland route or a winding route that follows the banks of the Dunwater River.
Ess looks at Ben and Kay with wide eyes and can't keep it in "Ummmmm... crocs? Dudes... you can't make this shite up." he is indifferent and will be ok with whatever the party decides. He's confident with crocs due to the Ess/Kay and Ben meeting back on the beach in Neverwinter that day...!
We will resolve these items now (finalizing details of under the table weapons deal and if the party will accept the croc quest), and then figure out the trip back to Marshswamp, if the party will even go back with the captain and guards, etc. etc. For now, the 2 guards plus the captain are waiting/resting on the ship at the lizardfolk cave docks. They are safe and happy to wait as long as needed, even overnight if need be.
The Queen is happy to answer any questions the party has about the potential quest offered to them.

Korrik cracks his neck and squares off against Ess.
"Too slow on that one, I trust you aren't gonna use the edge on me, just trust your arm!", he admonishes as Ess whiffs on the first one. He darts in, slapping low with one hand, trying to get Ess to flinch to cover his 'goods', following it with an open hand strike towards the side of his friend's head.
Attack: 15 Damage: 9 Attack: 14 Damage: 8
He darts back after the first round of attacks, and Ess bulls forward, tagging the halfling before he can drop back. "There you go!"
Korrik moves in the direction that Ess's blow took him, spinning and kicking at his thigh and an elbow to the back.
Attack: 15 Damage: 6 Attack: 17 Damage: 8
He rolls around the other side, as Ess catches him twice in a row! He grits his teeth in a grin and launches in with a pair of swift jabs.
Attack: 19 Damage: 10 Attack: 15 Damage: 5
After striking, he springs back with a wide smile and bows slightly in Ess's direction. "Well done!"
"Thousand Teeth?! Bwhahahahahhahahah! HAhahha!", Korrik takes a bit to recover, wiping tears from his eyes.
"It's like all our travels have been leading up to something like this! How big is this beastie? I've almost been swallowed by crocodiles, a basilisk and most recently an enormous toad. Can't help that I'm such asnack. Anything you can tell us about its lair?"
"Perhaps you should mix up your story a bit, doesn't seem like picking on the brave halfling who saved Ash's 'ash' went over so well with the audience. Perhaps a bit of humility on your part would find better reception!", Korrik teases Ben, before clinking mugs with him and grinning.

((Would have been a different story if she got sneak attack on each round! Korrik could have also flurried and gotten a 4th strike each round.))

8:30AM - The Snapping Line Inn

Yes. I also now keep my promissssse." she clunks down the 27 electrum ingots. They are in reinforced bags.
(180 gp)So they are paying 2,715 gp (54.3 ingots) 27 up front, for those weapons and armor, specifically.
Over to you all!
Attack: 15 Damage: 9
Attack: 14 Damage: 8
He darts back after the first round of attacks, and Ess bulls forward, tagging the halfling before he can drop back. "There you go!"
Korrik moves in the direction that Ess's blow took him, spinning and kicking at his thigh and an elbow to the back.
Attack: 15 Damage: 6
Attack: 17 Damage: 8
He rolls around the other side, as Ess catches him twice in a row! He grits his teeth in a grin and launches in with a pair of swift jabs.
Attack: 19 Damage: 10
Attack: 15 Damage: 5
After striking, he springs back with a wide smile and bows slightly in Ess's direction. "Well done!"
"Thousand Teeth?! Bwhahahahahhahahah! HAhahha!", Korrik takes a bit to recover, wiping tears from his eyes.
"It's like all our travels have been leading up to something like this! How big is this beastie? I've almost been swallowed by crocodiles, a basilisk and most recently an enormous toad. Can't help that I'm such a snack. Anything you can tell us about its lair?"
