Hmmm, well we could use the 2 since it's the first roll in the string, but maybe let's get a fresh roll and also description of what you do so I know exactly where to place you on the map. Thanks!!
Grwobert - I changed my mind, let's just use your original rolls to make it easier!
So... Ash's crossbow bolt hits the fleeing troll and goes right through it again. Immediately after this, Korrik scoots forward and brings down the staff overhead on the troll and it cracks the trolls skull as it starts to fall to the ground... (the damage from Ash's crossbow bolt plus Korrik's staff hit puts the troll at 0 hp)
The troll is up, and it immediately pops back up (+10), kind of rearranging its skull a bit from being cracked from the staff. It seems to be smart enough to know that it's done for, and it tries to get away by dashing 60 ft north.
(if I didn't mention earlier, the troll that is burning in the fire continues to burn and sizzle. It had stopped screaming a few moments ago and the corpse is now just burning.)
Korrik, please make your attack of opportunity to see if you can down the troll back to 0hp before it dashes the 60ft.
After that, I will process Bimz, Ess and Artye depending on what happens on that attack.
CRACK!Korrik's staff nails the fleeing troll and again across the head (Korrik jumped :) ) and the troll falls to the ground, its skull now basically in pieces....
(nice roll to get the hit and the 10 damage!)
Bimz remains in the tree, although he's fluttering his wings in excitement as the party seemingly is taking care of the situation. He says telepathically to Ben i feel safe!
Ess responds to Korrik, kind of bumbling his way forward, dashing the 60ft. (He has more confidence now that it seems the party will win.) he yells "YEAH BRO! I got a torch!! I'm coming!!" and he gets as far as he is now shown on the map. Now that he is closer to the burning dead troll, he grimaces and says "oh man, that's disgusting bros."
Aryte shakes her head in confusion and annoyance of Ess just now bursting forward. She then responds to Korrik"Yes! I bring fire." and she moves to the fire and looks around for a suitable stick that she can use as a torch around the fire. Perception 19
....and she finds a stick and lights it up using the fire. So, she has a lit piece of wood and it is ready for her next turn. I think that is enough to allow for one turn. (finding the stick and lighting it up)
Ash moves towards the final troll. ((I think last time Ash finished with her bow stowed, one dagger drawn, and one hand free)).
On the way, she pulls out a torch (free object interaction as part of movement?). Then uses her Fast Handsbonus action to light it off the burning troll on the way past…
At the end of her 30ft movement, she’s still maybe 10ft away from the troll, so she stands there ready with the burning torch for the start of the next round…
But she’ll also ready her unused action to hit the troll with the torch if it gets close enough…
Ben, you walk up to Ess and perform your magics on the burning troll and subsequently the fire itself as it'd be the only way to snuff the troll. This campfire wasn't too large, so I think you're successful in snuffing out the entire thing. ((Ben was quite far away from the fire, likely more than the 30 ft, but I'll assume that Ben was kind of walking forward as he was casting the spells on his previous turns, and so that put him in range to be able to walk up to the fire for the 10ft.))
Ash, you walk by the fire just as Ben is snuffing it but there's still some cinders and small flames available to ignite your torch. ((yep I have you 10 ft away from the troll, with your torch at the ready))
Korrik moves north of the troll and readies his staff.
The troll starts to push his body up from the ground (+10) and Korrik whacks it with his readied attack (-8). The troll finishes pushing itself up off the ground, and realizing it cannot escape it tries to bite and claw at Korrik in a last ditch effort to at least take out one of its attackers. One of the claws slashes him pretty badly (-10).
Ben, Bimz follows you and says back telepathically <yes. improve they must.> (same goes for Bimz, he would've been following Ben as he was creeping up)
Ess also dashes by the fire which is almost out at this point but is also able to light his torch. (removed 1 torch from Ess inventory!) and he makes it to the troll with his lit torch but isn't able to do anything else since he dashed and lit the torch as he was going by.
Aryte walks over to the barely standing troll and whacks it with her lit torch. The troll screams in pain (-1) yet remains standing.
Ben, the troll looks back at you in disbelief, grabs its barely held together skull, and then starts to drop to its knees... (-4, bringing to 0)
Ben, as you also quickly in the moment look around for the trolls valuables, all you see are some dead crabs. A few are half eaten.
Ash is up next, and then Korrik's attacks.
***Since Aryte did hit the troll with the torch and caused 1 fire damage earlier, does that mean that now the troll is dead? OR does it have to be the fire attack which is the actual killing blow? I believe it's the former and the troll is dead, but just want to be sure.***
If the troll is dead, Ash can go ahead and add her turn for flavor as Korrik just obliterates the troll after it was holding its skull. The staff smashes the troll's head apart, and the jab essentially pushes the troll down to the ground.
((so it just has to take fire damage at anytime during the turn sequence, and THEN then brought down to 0 hp by any effective means for the regeneration to fail and the creature dies, correct? In other words, it doesn't have to be the fire damage which brings the troll to 0hp, right?))
Ash just continues forward with her lit torch, on her turn, and makes sure the last troll doesn’t get back up, by slowly pushing the burning end of the torch against its skin, with a hiss of steam and flames and flesh. She just stands there like that glaring down at the creature.
((The troll regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the troll takes acid or fire damage, this trait doesn't function at the start of the troll's next turn. The troll dies only if it starts its turn with 0 Hit Points and doesn't Regenerate.
So, the troll took fire damage this round which means the regeneration doesn't kick in = Dead troll! No need for the fire/acid damage to be the killing blow.
That would probably make them even harder to kill. Especially in our group!))

I was thinking that too, but then was reading about how notoriously hard they are to kill and started to second guess myself.
Thanks Rodgeir!
I will get back to this game tomorrow AM.

Ben is up! Ash and Korrik could queue their turns if it makes sense.
Map is updated.
To Bim,
<Glad to hear it! We'll mostly just let them handle it now.>
Ben will walk up beside Ess and try to prestidigitate the burning troll out.
"I would hate for anything valuable to be damaged."
He then calls to Kay,
"Wrap that up, would you?"
"I'd be done, if I could conjure fire from my fingertips!"
Korrik will move north of the troll and hold action to attack if it stirs.

To Bim he confides,

Round 8: Ben, Ash, Korrik, Troll, Bimz, Ess, Aryte
Ben is up! Map is updated.
Ben sighs loudly at having to do this too. He yells to the standing, non-charred troll,
"This troll smells like burnt hair and meat but still manages to smell better than you."
Vicious mockery DC 15 wisdom save: 2
He then starts looking around for the trolls' valuables.
Korrik will whup the troll, regardless of if Ben and Ash manage to 'finish' it. He's already killed it twice, and doesn't trust it to stay down.
