"Now this is better than looking for dusty old artifacts," he says.
Ragnar looks around to try and pin point the source of the noise. He swings his gleaming battle axe once through the air then twirls it at around, pauses and grips the hammer amulet at his neck, closes his eyes and says "Anda väktare."
Ghostly white figures, glimmering with soft light begin to appear around Ragnar and Erika. As they flit closer and dart away again, their appearance is easier to make out - warriors, apparitions of ancient Ygdridanian warriors. They fly about, sometimes coming close to Erika but then turning and moving 15' outwards in the direction of the approaching sounds.
As this is going on, Glint continues to prattle away whispering aimlessly, oblivious to the danger. "Mr. Dreadbane, you wouldn't believe the wild animals we have seen on the road working for the Institute. Or, I take that back. I imagine someone in your line of work has seen a bit more of the world than myself. Someday when I settle back down in Zozobra and begin making toys again I'll have to revisit a few of my old designs. You see most of my creations mimic animals from a childhood picture book my mother gave me. Looking back at them, they are a little... shall we say comically unrealistic. I've got a few ideas stashed away in my mind that will surely be a hit with the nobles back home."
Glint hears Ragnar call out that the party is being surrounded, looks around and doesn't notice anything. Silly humans, getting all worked up about nothing.
As Ted listens to Glints musings, his ears prick up and his eyes flit around the shelves where Zira and Gen are. Distracted from Glint, words tumble out of his mouth over the gnomes sentence. “Gen, Zi, forget the trap! Somethings stalking you from the bookshelves , get away!” He draws his rapier, looking down at Glint with a wink before running over towards his mentors. “You ready for our first bout of heroics Glint?”
As Erika watches she sees the faintest outline of a creature stalking towards Gen-ga and Zira. The two don't seem to notice it at all but both ready for a fight!

Ragnar watches as the tentacled large cats appear around them, finally feeling the blow one sent his way. Almost mesmerized by the sight of these creatures, he's slow to act and it's not until he sees Erika knock one of the cats to the ground in front of him that he snaps out of his reverie and he quickly snaps into action.
As the creatures attack Erika and Ragnar, the guardian spirits flying about the pair lash out at the creatures.
Taking heart from the sight of the guardians and the inspiration Erika sent his way, Ragnar shouts 'Styrbult" and a flash of lightning blasts forward from the fist that clenches his battle axe. It races towards the creature that Erika did not attack.
Ragnar then lunges forward, swing his axe around in a quick arc, down on to the creature Erika knocked prone.
