"Aw," charmingly pouted Trixi, "brawl is great, but I hoped for the story."She looked excited (it was her natural look anyway) and genuinely hanging on every word of that nice dwarf. "It seems you know a lot about the treasure and the Mountains."
OOC: Erika give me a persuasion roll at disadvantage. This dwarf and his companions are clearly, well 'hostile' is a strong term, notyour friends regardless of Ted's rolls.
The dwarf scratches his beard and lets out a begrudging grumbling chuckle at Ted's ending 'jazz hands' to the entertainment portion but he seems to believe you all are what Ted says you are as cash-poor entertainers even eyeing your weapons hard.
"A toll and a performance," the dwarf says firmly looking at all of you. "Let's see your best act," he adds. "ALL of you," he adds pointing at all of the party his eyes falling heavy next to Erika's proposal and Trixie's added quip.
“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
"Sing, dance, or...do whatever it is that you're not earning your keep doing woman. They'll be no wrestling matches here," the elven man says his hand fingering a dagger hilt and motioning towards the table as a whole. "Come on...we haven't got all day," he adds flanking the dwarf who looks very entertained so far.
Lizzie scurries away from the party and back behind the bar.
OOC: Perception checks please but make sure to add something else. An RP of some kind not just 'here's my roll' but something to indicate you're actively seeking information from your senses.

Ted smiles and bows graciously, before clearing his throat. “Why would we give you any less than our best. Would you be so kind as to allow that sir?”

At the bottom of his Bow he takes a subtle peek around, his eyes darting around at belt level to check if anybody is drawing weapons. He’s learnt the custom in his not so savoury circles, to always check when you bow before someone, or risk decapitation.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hmm. Your loss to make some coin."
Erika, seeing her ploy didn't take hold, gives a quick glance around. Specifically eyeing the exits - and how many hostile people are between the party, the main door, or the kitchen where there might be a door out.
"Good thing we started from that tavern and not finished in here," commented Trixi, seen that the company did not bite and ignored the hint to sit together and share the stories. Like Ted she did not worry much about herself - she kew a few trick that could get her out of a tough spot - but others probably did not, so, she watched "the crowed" ready to react but keeping cool outside. For now.
"Yes, by all means prepare," the gray dwarf says smirking as he and the moon elf back off.
Collectively the party notices the following: 1 no one's drawn a weapon yet 2 there's plenty of people blocking the only exit you can see/are aware 3 five other dudes are backing up gray dwarf ad blue elf with at least seven standing by 4 everyone is armed and armored 5 there's no privacy from eyes and ears 6 there's no stage in the tavern so your performance will be on the floor
Leaving the party to 'huddle' Lizzie brings out murky shots of 'whiskey' to the party's table as a couple of the dwarf's crew move tables and chairs to give the party an area to 'perform' in as ALL eyes are on you and not to mention ears listening in anticipation.
OOC: Nahbois check in when you can!

Zira and Gen-ga were unaware that Simon Candor's group had fallen in the mountains just days ahead of their mission. Truly not even the survivors were able to conjure the news or send a letter to that effect to Zozobra and the Institute to reach them in time to notify Zira's party. The ambush had happened on watch. Ted passes around the whiskeys to Molle and Erika, keeping the two for Areon and Trixi next to himself. He whispers, though he knows it’s fruitless to hide anything, at least it would keep a semblance of mystery ”Please forgive me if you were planning to take up drinking today, I will not be able to handle the nerves sober.”
Holding out his arms in preperation of a huddle, he begins a speech. “Well my troubadours, this is what we’ve all been working towards. It will take all of our courage, all of our talent, but more importantly all of our trust in eachother. Remember our mantra.... If you fall, I will catch you, I’ll be waiting.... time after time. It doesn’t matter if we are playing to a crowd of ten or a crowd of ten thousand, we always give ten million percent. Each and every one of us is a part of a chain that cannot be broken, and we are nothing without eachother, so lets do this! I’m....I’m just so proud..... “
he feigns tears and buries his head in Erikas shoulder, whispering to her “Please, please, please... we are relying on you completely here. The rest of us have no idea what we are doing.”
Clearing his throat, Ted looks around the circle, “Does anybody else have anything to say before I down these whiskeys?”
"You have another door in the kitchen?" Quietly asked Trixi the halfling girl when she brought whiskey. While Ted was talking she counted the people and planned what else can be done here.
OOC: Everyone gets an inspiration dice d6 from the DM because of Ted's amazing speech!!

The ever growing document of character concepts can never be too long, can it?
Zira and Gen-ga were unaware that Simon Candor's group had fallen in the mountains just days ahead of their mission. Truly not even the survivors were able to conjure the news or send a letter to that effect to Zozobra and the Institute to reach them in time to notify Zira's party. The ambush had happened on watch. The second group having fallen asleep allowing the bandits to slay half the camp soundlessly before waking Ragnar and his Institute's party leader. Simon Candor fought bravely but was struct with a near deadly blow of a wereboar, the bandits secret weapon, and it's sickness now coursed through his inferal veins! Coming down the steps Ragnar saw Zira first having vaguely knowing the face of the fey touched half-orc it didn't register her until her companion. A bronze dragonborn cleric of the Raven Queen, Gen-ga, seated with her. Gen-ga and Ragnar locked eyes as Gen-ga stood holding their arm out in greeting as Ragnar crosses the room to response to Gen-ga's offered greeting.
"What...why have you lingered here Ragnar? What news of mountain? Surely you and your companions should have already begun your ascent," they ask bewildered as to why Ragnar is in the tavern on his own but also the apparent healing of fresh grievous wounds!
OOC: Just in case you missed it ir forgot Gen-ga prefer pronouns are they/them! Ok super go for Thoradin!
Ragnar crosses the room quickly, wincing as he bumps into a table, hitting the spot where a bandage covered in dried blood wraps his thigh. He reaches out and grasps Gen-ga's forearm and grips the dragonborn's shoulder, Ragnar's pale human hand contrasting with the rough scales. Ragnar takes a deep breath, rolling his armor covered shoulders, and stands his 6'1", 200lbs frame upright. His long blonde hair hangs loosely, and as it falls to the side, Gen-ga can see a deep scab covered gash across Ragnar's temple.
"Vi gick in i bergen redan en vecka tidigare," Ragnar says then pauses when the sees the look on Gen-ga's face, realizing he's lapsed into Ygdridan. "We went into the mountains a week past already."
He takes a breath and then finally greets Zira with a nod. "They were on us the first night. Fast. Vicious. I don't know what happened to the watch. Half were dead before something roused me."
Ragnar rests his hand on the large battle axe hanging at his waist. His jaw clenches and his green eyes flash with anger.
"They struck Candor down. Some great boar-man leads these bandits," Ragnar says and then looks around the tavern's great room. "Where is your party? I would join them. I must go back and make them pay for Simon's death. This I swear."
Ragnar then calls across to the bartender, ordering three strong ales.
"Right. You do not have to sing."She nods at Molle and Trixie. "We have some... diversions, we can use." Erika's eyes glance over to the kitchen, and the exit therein. "We'll use the song to get into position near the kitchen. Areon, try and help clear the path for us to the kitchen door. Trixie, use your ability to make an exit opportunity. Molle, as soon as we're out the door... pop the bottle. Order to make this work will be Ted, Molle, then Trixie for our grand end."
Erika takes the shot, slams it on the table, before jumping up on the table itself. She uses Minor Illusion to cause a cascade of multicolored sparks to explode from the ceiling above her, showering the table and highlighting her to the room, her illusionary blonde hair wild in the air. As Ted seems confident enough, she uses the display to boost her own confidence before she starts playing, in addition to thinking of his speech prior (and not the whisper he shared after). (Action - Minor Illusion / Bonus Action - Bardic Inspiration 1d6 (self))
Erika plays the flute, a rapid, catchy tune that has parts easy to improvise a song over. She stomps one foot on the table to provide the beat.
It takes a second for her to get into the groove given the audience, but she manages. She finishes the intro, and sets up Ted's part. As he joins in, she will take a step along the table towards the kitchen door, hoping that the mass of her friends begins to move that way as well.
OOC: Can't roll for crap... 16 including two separate inspirations AND advantage with a +6 lol. Also, for some reason I want the song to be like Rasputin from Boney M. But with a flute and stomping I guess?
Per the PM, Erika will play for Ted, then inspire Molle. Then play for Molle, and inspire Trixie. Then play for Trixie. Then... well, let's see what happens. Erika will help you for each of your performances, and keep the inspiration rolling.
Downing all three Whiskeys, Ted is as ready as he will ever be.
He bursts into a high energy dance, clapping to try to encourage the crowd before bursting into a jig, kicking his legs out with his arms crossed. He crouches down as he continues this move jumping forward as he does so so he edges towards the audience as he barks “Hey” over and over. Finishing the intro he jumps up into a backward somersault landing on his first line.
“There lives a certain dashing folk hero, he was so handsome, in his eyes a sparkling glow. All tyrants heard his name and hid in fear, but to Zozobrans he was such a lovely dear. He would show each person he met on the street care, to the meek he was a saint. But he could bring the ruling classes to their knees yeah, and his charms would make you faint!”
By the final line of the verse, Ted is atop the table. He finishes his verse with a forward somersault landing in front of the table in the splits for the chorus.
“Dra, Dra, Dra Dreadbane, saviour of the Emberan, there was a man that was really smooth. Dra, Dra, Dra Dreadbane, things would never be the same, once you got caught up in his groove.”
Ted is not moving towards the door, seeing his job as doing his best with the distraction.
