Zorn, on finding the others ready to rest, decides he will move ahead and try to locate this hunter himself. He turns and starts back in the direction the shots came from.
With his canon still active, and with little to gain by sitting to rest, as well as having found himself quite quiet following along with his companion, shrugs to himself, picks up his device, and follows along.
The party splits up. While Varn and Skarro settle behind cover while Komos and Zorn continue to stalk through the forest in search of the Hunter.
The soon get a strange vision; flashback to a memory that isn't quite theirs.
You run. You're dashing through large halls of some massive structure that somehow feels very familiar to you. It almost feels like home. The jet black walls, the strange blue lamps, all of these would be normally so strange yet they feel so mundane. Various men in strange blue robes unlike any you've heard of walk around, their faces hazy as if you can't quite remember them. You run, a sense of anxiety, worry, uncertainty but also... joy spurring you on as you run through these foreign halls made familiar.
"My liege-" One of the robed figures spoke, walking towards you. His language was not one you recognize yet can perfectly understand. You give him no thought and push him aside. Running through the halls, you arrive at what seems like a strange door frame, framing a part of the wall that looks like obsidian." You touch it. It glows for a second before disappearing. Beyond is a large bed. On it lying a noble woman holding a newborn. Mid-wives surround her. You slow down your rush and approach her. You extend your arms. The nobelwoman looks up at you weakly and with a smile or what you perceive as one, hands the child to you.
The flashback fades. All four of Kobolds find themselves back in the forest, where you were before you were lost in thought. Skarro and Varn are still resting. Zorn and Komos still hiding and going through the forest towards the Hunter. All four are left in silence for a moment to digest what they just saw.
Skarro shakes his head, trying to clear it. The dreams make no sense to him but then again neither does much of anything any more. He strains to listen for sounds battle to the north.
The party has been split with one team heading toward the hunter and the other staying behind to rest.
While Skarro and Varn rest, some time pass but not enough to really recover from all the chaos and stress of the Hunter hunting them. That's when the hear something.
"Hello? H-Hello? Anybody there?" The sound of a young Kobold child, lost and afraid can be heard from the forest. Is someone else here that's not a twisted abomination?
Komos and Zorn continue to sneak through the forest when they reach a second clearing. This one has two trees on either side of the glade. The trees have more of the Hunter's eyes visible from where Komos and Zorn are hiding. The fungus possessed armors patrol around the trees. If they are spotted once more, the Hunter will notice them again.
Entering Initiative again (No need to roll though).
((Where on the map do you sneak to? Keep in mind that entering an Orange Space will mean you are detected unless you are in cover. There is barely any cover in the orange space. )
Komos tosses this canon towards the Eye at D9 then looks to his friend and whispers, “Should I try to kill the kill from there? At least it won’t give away our location here.”
"Huh? Who's there?" Varn asks, then immediately adds: "Stay down, wherever you are! Don't reveal yourself, if your life matters to you." He was pretty sure the eyes couldn't hear, but who knows? Either way, they could definitely see. "How did you get here?"
Skarro had started to frown. All the voices in his head were getting out of hand, and the latest one was unknown to him. "You heard that?" he says to Vorn, relief plain in his voice.
He then starts looking around, trying to identify the source.
(No clue what is on the map and not, as it is not useful for me. Zorn would not enter a clearing though, assuming there is trees to go around it. It might take longer, but, unless he is very near their destination (I.E. the clearing here is where the hunter is), then he would simply take the extra time to skirt the area.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Zorn nods to him in agreement of the plan to take out the eye, Komos has his cannon aim for the eye at the choke point, hoping to take it out so they can skirt through.
Attack: 19 Damage: 7 - and pushing it back if hit.
"W-what?" The child's voice says from inside the forest. The a shot rings out loudly but there were no projectiles that Varn or Skarro could see. It seems the Hunter is targeting the other group now.
The Child yelps out in surprise. "W-What was that!?" It says in a panic.
The Cannon shoots the eye on the western tree. Blue blood squirts out of it and it recoils back but being firmly wrapped around the tree branches prevent they eye from being knocked off. The cannon was not strong enough to take the eye out in one shot though a second shot might be enough to destroy it. The eye, leaking blood, snaps back to the cannon and the one in the other tree shifts its focus to the cannons direction. As soon as the eyes identify the cannon, the forest rings out as the Hunter fires. The white projectile flies through the air misses the cannon just by a hair. Zorn feels the wind on his back as the misfired projectile flies over him and disappears into the forest. The Armors stop their patrols and rush the cannon, getting close to it to be able to start clawing at it soon.
(Alright so everyone attempting a Short Rest behind cover?)
(( Skarro is; unless or until he senses the Hunter's attention waver from him because of the actions of others ))

Cannon placed. 1st level spell slot deducted because you already used up your 1/Long Rest cannon and further cannons require spell slot usage.
