Tiamat mulls over the question before answering, "Two days. We have two days before we MUST make our way to the source. During that time we can explore this place and attempt to get stronger."
Skarro nods, not sure how he will tell when two days are up, but trusting the goddess. He nods toward the end of the bridge, "That is the end? If so, then we should go back. If not the end, then we go forward."
He looks to Tiamat for clarity and the others for agreement.
"The bridge is not the end. There is a bit more after that but we will want to go down, look for stairs going further and further down when we eventually cross the bridge."
How did Tiamat know where they are in this hotel, how did she know how long they have left? Even for a goddess, it seemed strange. It didn't add up. How could Tiamat be so strong, yet need the help of three mere mortals? Either she should be able to overcome this emperor on her own, or they won't be enough to do it regardless. So many things didn't add up, they just didn't add up. But Varn keeps his mouth shut. What could he possibly do about any of that?
"Two days is a long time, or perhaps not enough. Where do you think we'll be able to get stronger, faster? There have been a few creatures with coins, or coins hidden in those weird drawers, back there. What will we find beyond this bridge?" Varn asks. He wanted to cross over, thinking he'll find answers there. But at the same time, he didn't want to die.
Tiamat looks over to the bridge and says. "I am not sure what exactly we will find on the other side." She points at the void below and says, "Long ago when a closed the accursed Gate in the Abyss, I felt a maddening presence coming from it. I sense the same presence coming deep below us. The descriptions of the Eternal City that I had gathered in my frantic attempts to find a way to stop The Emperor matches what we see before you."
She then answers Varn's question, "If I am fed more coins I will be able to manifest as not just an avatar like the form you see before you but my true form that I once had when I created the Chromatic Dragons. However, even then I can only do so much alone. I will fail against the Golden Emperor eventually. So I believe the best way to get stronger would be to fight the creatures that lurk here and explore this place. Empower not just me but yourselves as well. That way we might be able to stop the Emperor together."
Skarro grunts then nods, looking dubiously at the way ahead. He trusts his goddess implicitly and -- though he never thought ti would become literally true -- is willingy to follow her into the gates of hell itself.
"So what should we do?" Tiamat asks. "Should we continue across this bridge or head back to places we have not explored yet in order to scavenge coins and objects of use?"
The party retraces their steps back to the big marble room with the large pool in the middle. The unexplored tunnel goes off to their right and on the other side of the pool is the door leading back to the dark warehouse where they had first fought the strange creature.
The winding marble tunnel with lighting fixtures of alien and lost technology and the channel of water curves right. It keeps going until the party finds themselves at a familiar window. Only this time, they are on the other side. The marble tunnel they see through the window was the one that they took not too long ago to reach the bridge. The tunnel continues past the window and curves left again.

Skarro pauses at the bridge, turning to Tiamat. "Is...should we continue?"
He glances from Tiamat then to the other end of the bridge and then back, "You said we should gather more strength before the ... end."

Skarro seems relieved. He thought Tiamat wanted to cross the bridge and end their search. "Coins!" he says forcefully.
(( I hope I've interpreted the situation correctly: coins are back, end is across bridge ))
((Yes you have. There are more coins across the bridge too but the end is pretty near past the bridge.))
((Sorry about the week absence. I got sick and was out of commission. I'm back now. Remind me again what you guys are doing?))
(( I think heading back to the last branch in the hopes of bolstering the coin supply ))

Not one for retracing his steps further than he needs, Skarro heads toward the unexplored tunnel.
