Using the three Kobolds in a trenchcoat setup and getting on Tiamat's back, Komos is able to grab the top of the door to one of the stalls and hoist himself high enough to take a look around the maze.
He sees an area with blinking lights. That is probably where they came from. On another end of the maze, he sees a glass door with white light.
"there's a bright door that way!" komos points out, adding, "in a maze like this, if we just always follow one wall, it might take a while, but we'll get to the end eventually."
Skarro's jaw drops. "In a maze like this?!?!?" He stares at Komos for a few moments, shaking his head. "Skarro trusts Komos, but when did Komos see a maze like this before?" He looks at the others then back to his friend. "Skarro will follow Komos, but does not think he has ever seen a maze like this before!"
As he follows along he can be heard mumbling to himself about shiny shithole mazes with doors, and occasionally sneaking a wary look at Komos.
(( Happy to adopt Komos' plan! @DM: Could we all climb on top, and skip the maze? ))
((No because while some of the "Walls" of the maze are very tall bathroom stalls, there are also normal walls that connect to the ceiling with no space to climb on top of.))
Komos manages to use the "Hug the wall" method to get out of the maze, although it takes a good while.
The party finally get to the dark end of the maze. The place is pitch black save from the bright light coming out from the glass door. Opening it, the party finds themselves in a very large room with walls and floors covered with white and blue marble tiles. There is a large pool of water that takes up the vast majority of the room. 10ft wide spaces that go along the walls of this room offer the only dry spaces and also work as the banks to the swimming pool. The pool water looks blue thanks to the blue tile used in the pool and because the water is very clear. There is another glass door at the opposite end of the swimming pool from where the party is standing. The room curves into a dark passage at the left corner.
Tiamat walks close to the water and then taking off her gauntlets, she touches it to make sure it's safe. Seeing that it is normal water, she splashes herself in the face with it. "Water... It's been many ages since I've touched water. I do not require it to survive like mortals. It is very rare in the Abyss where I was sealed. If we were not racing against time to stop the Emperor's arrival, I would not have mind taking a dip in the water here."
"Water extinguishes fire. I don't like them. I mean, when I don't drink them." There's not much else he can say about the matter. "I guess that's our way out?" He points at the next door. "At least we can go around this strange lake."
If nobody objects or wants to do something, Varn will lead the way to the glass door, and if it isn't locked, open it.
Going around the marbled bank of the pool, Varn approaches the dark door. Opening it reveals some kind of changing room. There are small wooden benches and a row of metal lockers. There are baskets with towels in it pressed up against the back wall. On the back wall is a window that is covered by thick red curtains. On the left side of this room is a wooden door.
A surface level search of the room doesn't reveal much that wasn't already seen: lockers and towels. The lockers contain various clothes hung on hangers. Is Skarro going to spend some time going through the towels and lockers thoroughly?
Thoroughly no; he throws the clothes and towels on the floor hoping for the `clunk' of interesting items, but otherwise moves to the wooden door and reaches for the handle before pausing. "Doors here are strange," he says, turning to Komos. "Safe you think?"
“Whoever is planning this world seems to understand mechanics quite a bit actually. Other than the scary monsters, the world itself doesn’t seem so evil…” Komos replies
Tossing the clothes and the towels on the floor makes some clinking noises but its muffled and hard to tell where exactly it came from (the towels or the clothes).
Tiamat replies, "The world of the Emperor was built by absorbing other worlds into it. I expect that the marble room and the dark maze we just escaped from were once normal elements of some ancient, unknown civilization that became warped and twisted to fit the Emperor's domain."
Poking the towels shakes loose 1 Coin. There are probably more hidden among the piles of towels and clothes. It would require a more through search (takes some time)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"You start on that side, I'll start over here,"Komos says directing his friend as he digs through all of the strange towels and other fabrics. ((investigation 27))
Due to smart division of labor on Komos's part, what might have taken 15 minutes is done in 3. The clothes and towels are searched and from them, some in the folds of towels, some in the pockets of clothing, the party gathers a total of 9 coins.
Varn will help Komos up, and then stand close to help him if he loses his balance. "Anything up there?"

As expected, outside the window is a void.

At the sound of the first clink Skarro frowns and moves to investigate, poking the item with his staff, trying to find what made the noise.

Skarro grunts a satisfied grunt. "More of them," he says, a faint grin playing on his serrated lips as he nods. "We should search. Make ... stronger."
He has seen how thorough Komos can be and turns to him, waiting to assist in any way he can.

Bump. You found 9 coins. How do you split it?
(( 3 people, 3 coins each...unless Glory shows an interest...though I think Skarro might 'owe' some ))
