At 73 years old, this old man has lived longer than most of the humans in the harsh north. He's had a meaningful and important life-if you believe him, after all at his age he's started to lose his marbles. Whats clear is his life wasnt' kind to him, covered in scars, missing a leg, replaced with a crud artifical one, and a glass eye. He claims he fought an ancient white dragon once, that it bit him in half, took his leg, and left him for dead in on a mountain. "It wasn't much, I got over it in a week!" He'd tell it.
What is clear however, is that many do infact owe their lives to him in this frigid north. Over his life span of activity in the area, he's been a renowned healer. Skilled in medicine, herbalism, and even how to use poisons to heal. He's certainly showing his age now, his hands not as adept at sutures, often forgetting where he put things, his magical healing diminished. Yet, people still call, and he still walks down from his mountain to answer it.
Today however, he's not here to heal. Today he' here to mourn the passing of a friend. Or at least the letter said they were friends. His memory is a tad foggy, yet the feeling in him tells him to go. So he goes. Maybe he'll remember him at the funeral.
of note: I sold a lot of his starting gear (he needs no weapons obviously haha) and bought Healer's kits and Poisoner's kit with those funds.
So I rolled horribly there. So I leaned into it. Malik the Healer. Celestial Warlock, Healer feat, V.Human. Quite old. In his youth he was powerful, strong, mastered his abilties, had far more abilities. but in his decline he's losing it.
Space added to edit in app above while hopefully avoiding the rolls haha
Do not reroll 1s correct? Ability scores: 11148131517 EDIT: I uh. wow. okay haha
Haha yeah, with that bad luck there I probably should. if it was only 3 low ones I could swing it alright, 4 is pretty rough. 8ac 5hp is.. not great. Though would force some creativity maybe, finding cover and using silent image to make cover. Assuming illusions work like I think, would provide me visual coverage to an extent, even after they interact still blocks sight to an extent. Who knows. I find it kind of hilarious and would be RP territory I've never had before.
For now though I leaned into it and made a 73 year old "Mountain Medicine Man" whose had a hard life. I can totally switch to point buy if I end up chosen but would be too hazardous with those stats.
V.Human for now. But was rather tempted to be a healing halfling subrace. but crazy old human with a healer's kit just sounds hilarious.

I once played a character who rolled 2 3s for her stats. I really felt for her and then put them in Cha and Str. The resulting wizard was OK, but when an NPC tried to talk to her...
Thanks to everyone who took time to draw up a character. There were a lot of great submissions. So many that I decided to take six, rather than five, players. I had fun reading them, but choosing players from a list of applicants is probably the hardest part of being a GM. DM's have been sent the players.
Quick Q. Is there any restricted books/etc ?
Old Man Malek

No restrictions, as long as the character fits the setting.
Point buy is also an option!

She also had trouble lifting her spellbook.
Chilling kinda vibe.
