The captain smiles at Meep for a moment. "Never seen that either. Well folks, it sounds like you're going into the sewers. If you have no more questions, then Good luck. Just keep the blood off the streets." He turns to the other officers. "Let's get this cleaned up."

Delmalis nudges the crates of found loot with his foot, "Do you suppose there'd be a reward for turning this stuff in? Or should we hang onto it and hope they don't ask?"
Meep has given one of the potions to Twitch, one to Khione, he'll give one to Delmalis and keep one for himself. He doesn't feel comfortable enough to try and walk away with a whole crate right in front of the guard. Once the potions are stowed, he'll ask "What's the closest entrance to the sewers?"
"Down we go? Got a job to do I guess," Sybil states as she looks around for sewers entrance and looking in direction pointed out.

Lussa walks around with Sybil and they find a clean, shiny sewer cover with the symbol of Waterdeep etched on the top. As you peer closer, you notice the circle with squiggly lines, similar to the tattoo on the Xanathar henchman.

Lussalooks to Sybil, "how about you go let them know we found the entrance, and that it's got Xanathar's mark on it. I'll drop in and take a look." She takes one last look around, then tries to move the cover to head down into the sewers.
No one is coming as Lussa pops off the lid with ease. It flips and spins before coming to a full stop on the ground. Despite the noise, no one is coming or paying any mind to you.

Delmalis nods his thanks for the potion and moves to follow the others, hopping down through as quickly as Lussa pulls the cover off to prevent anyone below from having time to react.
Twitch had gotten slightly distracted by a bug carrying a piece of bread that was like five times its size, but hurried out to follow the others down as soon as Sybil gave the remainder of the group the news.
Walking towards the sewer entrance, Alberich speaks: "I expect it to be too dark for some of us", here he glances towards Sybil, "to see well down there. Do any of you magicy types have a spell for the situation, or should I dig out a torch or two?"
Meep peers down into the sewer entrance. "I can start small fires pretty easily, but they burn out quickly. I've never needed help seeing in the dark, in fact, I prefer it, but yes, a torch might be needed."
OOC: Once everyone is ready to go into the sewers, here's what you see. Also its sounds like Alberich is carrying a torch, otherwise, those without darkvision need a light source.
A putrid stream flows along this sewer tunnel, which leads in two directions. In one direction, you see a tiny symbol drawn on the wall in yellow chalk: a palm-sized circle with ten equidistant spokes radiating out from its circumference.
As the party travel, roll stealth checks. If you're not stealthing that's cool too.

Before going down, Sybil will take everyone to the side and talk to them about for about 10minutes reiterating them the danger they'll be facing against Xanathar, the description of their target and the importance of never leaving a job half done, she will admittedly sound very cheesy about it all but she is trying and should give everyone 5 temp HP points from her inspiring leader feat.
After climbing down into the darkness, she'll strike a light into her bullseye's lantern, "I think this is more convenient for our purposes,"

Twitch was almost vibrating with excitment as they munched on the last remaining stirge leg in their pack.
" So....sewers. Follow signs. Kill Xanadu. Don't die."
" Easy."
" Oh....and rescue man."
Delmalis nudges the crates of found loot with his foot, "Do you suppose there'd be a reward for turning this stuff in? Or should we hang onto it and hope they don't ask?"
Twitch gives Demalis an exaggerated and not at all subtle wink and steps in front of the crates...
OOC: Anyone else have any questions for the captain, Renaer, or the guards? If not, what would you like to do?

The nods at Meep. "It's just around the corner. The Dungsweepers go down and clean the sewers once every week. They should be done by now."
