Sybil snaps shut her book of shadow, casting Guidance on herself just in case before making her way down from the third floor to first floor to see what's up.
Sybil, you're the first to the door and as you open it, you see a pair of women standing there. One is a cheerful gal with red hair, freckles. She's dressed in a leather vest and breeches, but what stands out is leathery wings. Next to her is a dwarven maiden with yellow-white hair and perky ears. The girl with wings steps forward. "Hello madam, I'm Amelia the Vampire and this is my friend Alti the Werehare. We're from a carnival that's setting up outside of the Waterdeep city limits and we're wondering if we could set up a banner and a couple of flyers outside of your business for a few days to advertise our carnival."
Alti nods. "You're very pretty, ma'am. We're willing to pay ya, 400 gold" (Or OOC: enough to get you the renovations and repairs done for the manor).

Lussa is just browsing mostly, studying options for future purchases, looking for income opportunities to help get the manor going, and some sweet treats (honey-nut clusters, candied fruit, or something similar) for the group and the children. She will pick up a copy of the press to read the story on the scarecrows, and also look over the carnival advert.

Delmalis makes his way down to see what Sybil is talking about, and after getting the offer he shrugs, "I don't see any reason why not to let them set up a banner outside." After collecting the money, he'll head out to start getting workmen and supplies to finish the renovations.
Meep pokes around, enjoying the smells, but the bright light makes him a little uncomfortable. He buys some fat grubs to snack on, and he'd like to buy good parchment and ink (up to 30 gold worth). He practices casting Minor Illusion here and there, making small items appear to float and things of that nature.

"Thank you," Amelia says as she hands Demalis a large sack of gold. She and her companion begin to put up the banner. "Feel free to stop at the carnival. And bring your friends."
The girls aren't there for long and the banner doesn't look too out of place. It advertises the carnival with attractions like the House of Horrors, "Amelia the Vampire" and "Charlotte the Fire Eater." A few people stop and look at it before continuing to walk.
To get the repairs started you'll have to visit the Carpenters’, Roofers’, and Plaisterers’ Guild. The Cellarers’ and Plumbers’ Guild to schedule the renovations for various places in the tavern. You can also speak to the Launderers’ Guild for clean bedsheets. From your calculations, you think it will be 12 days to finish everything. How would you like to go about repairing the inn?

Lussa, the article lists a "band of brave adventurers stopped the slithering scarecrows." You also find candied fruit, various juices, and pastries.
As for money-making opportunities, you notice different advertisements.
1. A couple of parents want to pay some adventurers to escort their kids through the City of the Dead
2. A young nobleman named Roland is looking for a room to stay and he is offering gold.
3. The Watch is asking for information regarding the thief known as The Black Viper.
4. the famous adventurer Drizzt DoUrden is coming to Waterdeep for a book signing and organizers is looking for bodyguards. See J.B. Nevercott for details - For you Lussa, that name is familar.
Finally, the carnival advertisement encourages folks to come enjoy the carnival. The ad lists different attractions like Alti the Werehare and Silessa the Snake. Visitors can also enjoy the "Litwick Market."

Meep, since you've been in Waterdeep, a moment of clarity hits you. You remember that the City of the Dead is actually Waterdeep's graveyard, something Durnan or Bonnie mentioned to you. It's not underground, but rather a large cemetery. Some folks even go there to have picnics or visit their deceased loved ones. You also remember that it's closed and guarded at night.

Lussanods at Meepand Twitch, "taking the kids through the City of the Dead should be easy, if it's during the day, and offering a room to Roland should make for easy income too, if he's willing to put up with the manor's current status and the upcoming repairs. And maybe later today, we can stop by a watch station and get more information about the Black Viper. However, the bodyguard job sounds really intriguing. Let's get this info and the treats back to the manor and figure out our next move, okay?"
