Pointing his blade at Grutha, Paeries fires off another volley of EBs, hoping to free Voltan up to do as he pleases. That said, he does throw the final bolt towards the Subchief.

Nothing happens other than the allosaurus losing a little hp, but it has plenty.

Seeing the last remaining giant tumble to the floor, quite dead, Icarus stumbles up on top of the cloud giant and sinks his fangs into the giant’s neck, and proceeds to drain it of a good gallon of sweet, crude blood.

The first floor has been cleared!! Exploration of the ground level reveals plenty of treasure. There is the following items littered among the complex:

800 gp, three platinum bracelets (worth 1,000 gp each), threer potions: healing, superior healing, poison, a +1 shield, and a javelin of lightning. Nosnra and Grutha also wear four pieces of jewelry each, worth 1,000 gp per item. The bear has a jewel-­studded collar with six rubies, worth a total of 250 gp, and a +1 warhammer is hanging from a wall in the Great Hall. There's also a potion of storm giant strength and a potion of invisibility. One ogre wears a gem (worth 250 gp) on a thong around his neck.

Voltan's old bones feel much better after the long rest, although he is sure to have scars from this encounter.

Icarus grabs the Potion of Invisibility and leaves the rest of the loot for anyone else in the party who is interested.

Paeris does sit down to rest, taking time to recover his essence and body. As he rests, he makes sure to wrap his blade in a soaked cloth, so that his patron may feast on the life essence.

Ebony collects some gems for material components (2 rubies and a platinum bracelet), then sets up a tiny hut, summoning in a small air spirit named Rusha to protect them.

She also uses Arcane Recovery to get back her 4th level spell slot.

Completely satiated with giants blood, Icarus curls up into a fetid little ball in the corner of the magical hut, and quickly falls asleep.

Once their short break was over, Paeris would stand back up and call out to the others, "Okay, I'm going to start the interrogations. Saving the chief for last, so any questions you have, get them ready." Walking over to the hallway filled with dead giants, ogres...and a bear, Paeris finds a simple Hill Giant to start things off, and get some basic questions out of the way.

Bonking the dead Giant on the head with his sword's sheath, he casts Speak with Dead. Once the giant's eyes open, now with a strange infernal glow, Paeris will ask, "Do you and your people speak or understand common?"

With Splat translating for him Paeris continues to channel his questions through to the giant,

"What's in the basement?"

"Why are you attacking?"

"What is your people's plan to attack?"
