Second Wind pre-short rest: 10 Short Rest Hit Die: 80
Splat does his best to translate, but between the limited intelligence of Hill Giants and the furious little Kobold's less than eloquent manner of speech, it may be difficult to tell who is at fault for an unclear reading. Regardless, he agrees with Voltan - questioning the Cloud Giant and the Subchief may be a better use of their spells.
"It's the nature of the spell, they are allowed to be cryptic and vague. I just have to be careful with my word choice." Paeris sighs and asks a final question, "What is within the Dungeon?"
Once the giant drops dead, he'll ask the party, "So shall we ask another soldier, or shall skip straight to those in charge?"
Icarus lips his lips at mention of the blood borne monsters mentioned in the basement. With a wicked laugh, he casually mentions “Sounds like dinner awaits...”
Paeris will nod at the point, and head over to the chief's corpse. Casting the spell once more, he'll summon forth the spirit of the Chief, and look to the others. "Let's start this off easy. For what reason did the giants form an alliance and attack?"
You find the stairs that lead to the dungeon level. At the bottom of the stairs is a room. Currently, it's empty. A few smoky torches burn along the walls. Several benches and tables are pushed out of the way against the walls, revealing a floor of black stone, much worn by the tread of countless feet. There is a passageway to the north and south, and some doors.
Splat's poor little mind was exhausted from all the translating, but the promise of ripping more Giants to shreds was a tempting one. He scampers ahead, grumbling to himself about being the only one in this party capable of taking a Giant's club to the face and living to make it back to the dentist. If you even bothered to visit, of course; Splat had some teeth missing. He had taken far too many clubs to the face to count.
"To the right?" Splat asks. If no objections are raised, Splat will take a peek into the area South of the staircase's entryway, mumbling some half-crazed tangent about how mazes can be solved by sticking to the rightmost path. Tunnel systems, too, but you'll be running up and down the same paths for years.

Icarus follows closely behind Voltan, nose sniffing the air for the scent of blood. Soon realizing that his mind has been wandering, with thoughts of gulping down gallons of giant's blood, he quickly centers himself and puts his game face back on. Instead of outright following Voltan, he literally becomes Voltan's shadow, melting into the background, disappearing.
Ebony takes up a position at the back of the pack, Ghost purring as she weaves around between everyone's feet and generally acts like an annoying cat despite being a spirit.

Paeris kept just behind Icarus, following his lead of trying to keep quiet. He honestly didn't have much practice with it, but he wasn't going to let the man's clear efforts go to waste on purpose.
You open the door to AREA 9. You see about twenty orc commoners. They appear to be the help. Each room has a few smoky torches on the walls and moldy straw strewn on the floor. Some crude benches are built into the walls. They look at you helplessly and are subdued to the point of being nearly helpless.
Voltan turns away, as he isn't about to massacre a bunch of helpless individuals. "The giants are dead. You're free." He shuts the door and heads to Area 10.

This room holds thirty unarmed orc slaves (seven orcs, twenty-three orc commoners). Like in the room before, they offer no resistance nor put up a fight when you approach.

"What's in the basement?"
"The dungeon."
"Why are you attacking?"
"Not attacking. Dead."
"What is your people's plan to attack?"
"Not know. Do what told."
"On second thought, perhaps a slow-witted Hill Giant was not the best person we could've chosen to interrogate."

"Skip to those in charge. The peons will only know so much."

"Ogres, Orcs, creepy crawly things."

"Easy like your mom. No, but seriously. Not know. Told what to do from bigger giants. Ordning. All that jazz."
Ebony watches curiously from where she's preparing new spells for the day, paging through her spellbook and checking the seals inked on her skin.

The south area leads down to a long dark hallway.
Voltan heads through the first door down the hall.
