Leshanna is a bounty hunter out of the fey wilds. She takes contracts to hunt down those who flee from justice, and return them to face those who hire her. The justice is something she could take or leave, but the hunt is everything to her. She loves pitting her skills against her quarry, and thus only takes the most dangerous of contracts. Hook: This contract was different than what Leshanna usually takes on. Her client this time has heard rumors that the disaster up north was no accident, but caused by some great evil. He has hired Leshanna to travel to the regions and see what she can learn. She told him no to begin with, but this client, working through a middle-man, offered her information she could not resist, information on her sister, who has been missing for over a century now.
Name: Venstine Graey Race/Class: Half-Elf/ Aberrant Sorceror Backstory: Venstine is a half-elf who always knew that he was a one in a million (or once in several lifetimes) child. From his youngest years, he could tell what others were feeling by just looking in their eyes, studying for just a moment. He never knew why, and any attempts to ask were quickly shut down. However, when his father, a researcher for a powerful mage, died, the truth came out. Venstine was present on the day when the researcher desired more power than what he had. Using a spell, his father opened a gateway into another realm to release waves of powerful psychic energy. The desire was to contain them in himself. But the ways of Nature, even more so of Magic, are not easily manipulated. Venstine, and not his father, was flooded with the energy though only a baby. With his father gone, Venstine has read as many of the tomes and spells he could, but to no avail in seeking exactly what took place that day 25 years ago. He has since packed up, leaving the world he has always known, in search of any answers he can find. His searching has since taken him to Tomar's Crossing, where he has heard of an ancient book that could identify the outer plane where his abilities originated from, and, more importantly, who they came from.
Hook: Some unnamed NPC held a secret to your past. You were on your way to meet them when the disaster struck. You survived, and are hoping to find them at Tomar's Crossing.
"What in the name of all nine layers of the nine hells am I thinking!" Bronzebee cursed to himself.
He enjoyed it here in the great library of Silverymoon. The calm days full of study and research, the smell of books! He had grown up here living with his mother, the famous gnome baker/inventor of the five meat, five cheese, five gravy meat pie, and his father. Who had lived up to his surname and was even now working on a new way to put out fires useing alchemical concoctions.
His studies in the arcane arts had been progressing well, or so he had been told by his favorite mentor, the great Salomon Greywind. Then a month ago Salomon had left to some place called Tomar's Crossing. Then a rock had slammed into the valley and now Salomon was over due to return.
"So what do I do? I pack my best traveled clothing, and head off to Tomar's Crossing to find him! Gods I am the smartest moron ever!"
But behind the complaint a desire to find his mentor, and a desire for adventure began to smolder.
Hook:
A close friend of yours disappeared during the glacial melt catastrophe, and you've travelled to Tomar's Crossing to find them.
You can go back and roll stats for your character, start rolling you're making a new one. In either case, you can also default back to point buy if you wish.
Rolling my stats here because the last time I edited in stat rolls the forum got mad at me and told me I had possibly manipulated my rolls. Though quick thing before I do roll I realized: Any rerolls of 1s or special things like that or just normal 4d6 keep high 3?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Pa kissed Ma on his way out the door to walk their stumpline. He hasn't been seen since, and that was almost 15 years ago, near enough.
Ma died 6 months later, with their 2nd.
This far north most people acquire one or two step parents along the way, you just do your best for the dead and live your best life. But to lose both birth parents within a year? And the boy just having learned to walk, too. His neighbours, after due consideration, delivered the toddler to the monastery down the way and divided the family's assets between themselves.
As far as the hear and now goes, the abbott tell of the comet causing a rumpus in the valley and sent Sartorin to provide what assistance he could and to send word if more was required.

Name: Kaimarir
Race/Class: Fallen Aasimar/ Blood Hunter Backstory: When Kaimarir was a young child, her parents left her on the side of a street, and she would never see them again. However, an angel took pity on Kaimarir, and blessed her with divine power. Through the help of her deva, Kaimarir worked her way out of poverty and became an anthropologist. She traveled around the world searching for lost cultures, and hidden treasure. On one of her digs in the western area of Faerun, Kaimarir stumbled upon the ancient art of blood hunting. She had been ambitious since childhood, and this newfound challenge proved to be her hubris. Kaimarir mastered the art of blood hunting, but lost the support of her deva who disapproved of the whole affair. Since then, Kaimarir has continued to travel the world, making her way North on the information of long lost treasure. Her deva is still silent, and although Kaimarir has told herself that she does not care and instead throws herself into her work, she deep down misses the companionship.
Hook: One day, Kaimarir heard rumors of treasure-filled ruins uncovered by the disaster and had come to fill her pockets and brain. Her ambitions and her history loving self drew her there to investigate.
Bryce born in a small fishing village, grew tired of the simplistic life style. He loved the idea of being an Adventurer. As soon as he could he left his village leaving behind his family which consists of his parents and his little sister "Vivian". Bryce traveled down to daggerford before heading to Waterdeep the city of splendors.
There he trained as soldier but he would eventually learn that the stories he heard as a child were far from the truth. He spent a few years learning that people weren't as noble as they seemed. Between corrupt nolbes, merchant and even his own superiors Bryce grew tired of not being able to help those in need. He learned that a local Lord Alliance member was in need of a new squire. Bryce jumped for the opportunity, as he spent a year with the Alliance he learned of Helm and his teachings.
Everything was finally following in place, at least until an unknown letter had reached Bryce's hand. Bryce sent letters before to his family and he received a few from them as well but this was different. It was from his sister, usually his mother wrote to him. A comet had cause severe damage to the area of thier village was basically wiped off the earth in a flood and that thier parents had unfortunately passed on leaving her alone. She left instruction on where she was and that the area wasn't safe as goblins and bandits began to run amok. As Bryce continued to read, he realized this must have been the reason why Helm found his way into his life. With no hesitation Bryce left the Lord's Alliance and began making his way to Tomar's Crossings as fasr as he could.
Hook: A relative of yours was in Safeharbor when the disaster struck, and is now a refugee stuck outside of Tomar's Crossing. They've written to you for help, begging for food and supplies.
This sounds like a fun campaign! I'll try to get a character posted later today.
