“Perhaps I owe this Sildar a life debt, if it was he who distracted the goblins enough for me to survive.”
Grzak then nods to each party in turn. “Phandalin...I’ve heard of it, but never been there.”
Grzak then looks towards the ceiling above the garbage pile. “The entrance you came through and the way of escape for our wolf friend is not the only passage out of this cave.”
He then points towards the ceiling above the refuse. “There is a natural garbage chute from a higher space up there. I don’t know if I was dragged here or tossed down the chute unconscious.”
Tymora and the Lady of Luck are MIA during attempts at removing Grzak's collar, but he's taking it in stride.
With all the raging and yelping of wolves, you would think that any other inhabitant of this cave would have come to see what was going on. Perhaps it's the noise of the creek covering up other sounds. Perhaps wolves fighting is an everyday sound around here. Perhaps they thought the half-orc was being eaten alive and didn't want to get in the way of feeding time.
Regardless, you have choices...
Grzak has pointed out that garbage comes down a chute at the far end of this cavern.
This cavern is on the eastern (right-hand) side of the path you entered on. The stream and the path continue north, into the dark and around a bend.
Will you inspect this cavern and the garbage chute, or go back out and follow the path deeper into the cave?
"Very well." Kathrine says with a frown towards the chute. "I am not that good of a climber, the tree incident besides the point." She looks around at the others. "Can someone climb up it and see if you can put a rope down for the rest of us?"
The 'garbage chute' is a narrow fissure that rises into darkness. Bits of gore and gunk hang from the rocky walls. The garbage pile underneath reeks of rotting scraps and bones.
Alarion's darkvision can see that it goes almost straight up about 30'.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"It's about a 30 foot shaft. I think I could climb it, but I don't know what we'll find at the top. I'd like someone to be right behind me.", Alarion says, before walking over to the shaft and beginning to climb.
(If I have a choice in the matter, I would prefer Acrobatics)

Alarion breaths in, holds his breath - he steps carefully into the heap of bones looking for the hand and foot holds above...
...he's suddenly boosted almost a 3rd of the way up by the helpful Barbarian.
Perhaps he's thinking 'so this is what it's like to be a cheerleader' or not, but then his hands fall upon the slimy cave walls. He manages to not look too closely at what he's touching as he pulls himself up further. (1/2 normal mvmt speed for good athletics check) Alarion is close to the top of the shaft.
Cail and Grzak may eye each other warily before both shrug. Cail is the next to get a friendly giant boost up the fissure. Cail also finds hand holds, trying to not look up or down or at what's on the cave walls.
If anyone is looking up the shaft, when Rowen says this, Alarion makes a gesture (as best he can while 25 feet up) that clearly says "Umm...Look at me. I have negative muscles."
“Hey Gabriel, while I’m helping the others up the chute, can you please quickly search this cave for a key for this collar? It’s not likely that the goblins would leave it here, but you never know.” Grzak is splitting his attention between hoisting people as high as he can get them and preparing to catch anyone who falls and his request of Gabriel.
Kathrine casts guidance on the next person to try to look at the collar.

Gabriel taps on the iron collar and looks around for a hammer.
Katherine murmurs a prayer and reaches out to anyone else who wishes to take a look at the collar, which could also be herself.
and now you've met Grzak...
(OOC going to be afk a while, but feel free to post any actions you'd like to take. Oh, and who in the party speaks 'Goblinoid'?)
Rowen approaches and tries to open the collar if there's a lock.
Thieves tools: 8 (good lord lol)
Grzak sees Rowen struggle with the lock on the collar.
”Thank you for trying. I might have damaged the mechanism while trying to remove it before you all arrived.”
With a wry smile, he grabs the chain in the middle with his offhand and begins swinging it in a lazy circle. “At least I can’t be disarmed of it.”

"I for one say we try the chute. It will give us the element of surprise."

Grzak is willing to boost up Alarion as high as he can reach.
(Picture a large male cheerleader at the base with a smaller cheerleader standing on his upstretched arms)
He will remain underneath preparing to catch Alarion, if needed.
This applies to everyone.

It's athletic checks for all, unless that rope idea Katherine suggested works?
"Anyone sending a rope down?" Kathrine asks, standing next to the half-orc as she looks up to where the others are making their way up.
Rowen eyes the shaft wearily,
"That may be a good idea, I'm quiet but not the strongest bear in the woods!"

While the others are going up the chute Gabreil, will head back to the original entrance into this room and keep guard.
