"Oh quit yer whining!" a muffled voice says. "Where's a Paladin when you need one? Off fighting gypsies or saving gypsies or whatnot. Riding unicorns maybe. If only I could find a good old fashioned Paladin to wield me."
A sigh that sounds like metallic reverberations is coming from a pile of rusty things in the back of the cave.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"So Yemmick let me make this clear to you, I personally would execute you right here for torturing my friend. Give me a reason why I should hold off. Was this your only hideout, or are there more?" Gabriel whispers into the ear of the times up goblin. He then fixes the goblins with his most flat stare, letting the goblins see his lack of compassion for the sadistic little ass.
"It's King Grol! Cragmaw Castle! He has Sildar things. They plan big thing, I hear bits! Take Sildar, take Gundren , those just orders from big bad. Just rob wagons most, like normal."
"This king Grol, I assume he lives at Cragmaw castle? Where can we find it?" Gabriel's face doesn't show any emotion it's not time to give Yemmick any hope he might see the dawn yet.
Gabriel has heard of Gundren. Sildar was tight lipped about rumours regarding the lost mine of Phandelver, but did say that he was going to meet Gundar in Phandalin. The dwarf was too impatient to wait for the Knight to finish his business in Neverwinter, and headed out a couple days before Sildar along the perilous road. Which is how Gabriel met Sildar and both ended up on the same road, guarding the caravan of players on the road to Phandalin.
"Yessss, King Grol, he one of big bads, I tell you where castle is ok? You let me go? I draw map for you!" Yeemik pleads.
"Only promise I made you is a stay of execution, I personally think you deserve a quick death for torturing, and harming others who's wagons you robbed. I wouldn't trust any map you made anyways. For the sake of the life of Gundren if you want your freedom you will both draw us the map, and take us to this Cragmaw castle personally." Gabriel tells Yemmick. Switching to elvish "Alarion, Katherine do you agree with these terms? I know, Katherine, you said the goblins can decide his fate, but now the life of Gundren rests in the balance. Unless one of the other goblins can lead us? Maybe that Cringer, or Thinker?"
(OOC: sorry the leave Grzak out of this conversation but your sleeping anyways hehe.)
“I do not like this, but at the moment, saving a life is our top priority. I’ll agree with them for now, but once I’ve rested and restored my magical energies, I have a spell I’ve been working on that is based on fey magic to affect the mind. I’d like to give it a try, so fear is not Yeemick’s only motivation for helping us. If it takes effect, he should think of me as a friend and I can ask for directions. After that, we can return him to the goblins for judgement.”
Kathrine responds in elvish... "I was planning on giving our friends some choices they could pick between." Kathrine tells the others. "We can make leading us away from here, and to this castle, as one of the choices, and put it in a way that it is their best option." She shrugs though. "I personally have no desire to follow this goblin anywhere, just get the details, and a map, from him, and not try to get him to lead us. It gives him too many chances to either escape or stab us in the back."
In elvish Gabriel replies" I fully understand what your saying Katherine, I go no desire to be around him anymore then you. I only worry about following a map that goes to no place. If Alarions spell works that would set my mind at ease about the acuracy of the map. Your idea of options sounds good to me, lady of Eldath your wisdom is undeniable. Let us rest up for now." Gabriel stares at Yemmick for a moment longer, then walks away, let him squirm.
Gabriel will find as comfortable a spot as he can, taking off his heavy armor. He sets about cleaning and oiling his armor and weapons. After it's done Gabriel eats some dried meat, and bread from his pack, before laying down to rest.
"So it is up to us to do first watch then?" Kathrine speaks up as it seems they are the only two left awake. "I think one of us should keep watch, then wake someone else. Best to have someone keep an eye on the prisoner so no mischief happens while the others are sleeping." She shrugs. "I'll take first watch if that is ok with you. Want me to wake you for second shift?"
Gabriel will look up from cleaning his armor, "I will take third watch if that works."
(I was figuring Gabriel would be busy cleaning and eating for a few before he passed out so he would be part of any conversation that would go on for a few.)
"Sounds good." Kathrine agrees. as the others settle in for their sleep, she would work on removing her own scale mail armor. She would work to clean the armor and then stack it, keeping her attention on the area around her as she did the mindless task, remove a piece, clean it, set it aside, then remove the next piece. It would be so ingrained in her that it would take no focus from keeping watch. When the armor was removed, cleaned, and set aside, she would retrieve a clean set of clothes from her pack. Changing into those she would settle back, brushing her chestnut-colored hair as she finished off her watch. Then she would wake the next person.
When Kathrine wakes him, Alarion brushes the dirt from his robes and paces around the chamber. When the watch is over (actually a bit after), he walks over and gently wakes Gabriel.
"Thank you Alarion." Gabriel whispers. Gabriel will don his armor, and strap his sword to his side. Feeling the new blessing of Torm, he will cast the light spell on a rock brightening up the room.
Grzak is more than willing to take a shift “on watch”, if he wakes for one.
Things he would do on his shift:
Collar Yeemik to the restraints that held Sildar (no need to worry about him wandering off).
Place his old collar and chain somewhere handy if it might be used as a leash for Yeemik later on.
Walk/patrol/mentally map the entire cave to the entrance at least once.
Search all the dead bodies (again, if not already done), gathering weapons/valuables into Klarg’s room with the crates.
Carry/drag all of the carcasses to the wolves’ den (where everyone met Grzak) for future disposal/burning.
If he notices the dead goblins outside the entrance, he will search/separate weapons/valuables and collect those bodies in the wolves’ den as well. (Minimize the chance of wild scavengers gathering at the entrance.
If there is still time, he will let everyone sleep longer and after the sun is rising and hitting the grass outside the cave entrance, he will collect the change of clothes, walk outside, strip naked and bathe himself in the running water of the stream. He will be sure to always be within arm’s reach of his greataxe and javelins. He will scrub off all of the dried blood, grime and filth that has accumulated on him for the last week. He will study the tattoo and recall the dream.
When finished he will dry himself by laying in the grass allowing the warmth of the sun to revitalize him. He will dress and re-enter, discard his old clothes with the pile in the wolves’ den and then find who has awakened.
Yeemik tests his bonds and groans in pain.

Yeemik's eyes flare wide.

(OOC does Gabriel know Gundren, he came in a little latter in the story?)

"Tell me all about him Yemmick."

Kathrine remains silent, just watching as Gabrial speaks with the goblin.

Alarion finds a cleaner corner to rest in, but doesn't go to sleep until everyone else is asleep.
