Alarion asks the goblin "Who do you work for, why did you ambush us, and do you know of a human that matches this description?" (He describes Sildar based on what Gabriel has said).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kathrine kneels down next to the fallen goblin, pressing her hands to his wound as she meets his eyes with her own brilliant blues. Tears glisten in hers as she smiles down at him. "Please make this easier than it needs to be." Kathrine entreats with the goblin. "We are after our friend Sildar, and know he was taken here, can you tell us anything about where he is kept, or what dangers await us inside?"

(Son is laying down with wife, so I have a bit of time now to be online. Taking advantage of it as I can...)
Kathrine casts spare the dying on the goblin. As it takes affect she glances to the others. "Sounds like some sort of trap, maybe we best move in quietly when we head that way." She looks to the goblin. "If he lives, i suggest you allow him to leave here, as he may have helped us greatly."
"You are free to go, just please don't make us regret it." Kathrine says with a nod. "Leave this area and find a new clan to live with, who does not seek to attack those on the roads." She settles back on her heels as she gives the goblin space to rise. "My friend here, as you have seen, are quite capable of doing you harm if you stay in the area..." She notes to the goblin.
"They are using prisoners to feed dogs, I told you I would hold my blade, but I am tempted to end this evil creatures life right here and now. I say we tie the goblin up and take him to stand trial for the deaths he and his clan have caused." Taking a deep breathe to call his anger. " Let us head in. Kathrine or Alarion can either of you cast any spells of light, or do we need to light a torch?"
"I unfortunately cannot, but I can scout ahead with my elven vision. And I agree with Kathrine. The goblin is not evil just due to his heritage. We should give him a chance for redemption. But I will not hesitate to protect my companions or innocents." He summons a fire bolt for added effect, then allows it to fizzle out.
"As you wish, but make no mistake this isn't about heritage. Being born goblin isn't evil, but the way this goblin is brought up makes it so, I still think he should face judgment for his crimes, but I won't push the issue." Gabriel heads to the cave entrance.
Rowan is at the ready with his bow
Gabriel is at the mouth of the cave, listening and reporting
Cail has searched the goblins, and come up with 22gp
Alarion is ready
Katherine needs time to 'pray for guidance'?
(OOC if there is anything you want to question the half-dead goblin about, it's now or never)
And of course, Cail can use this time for his 2nd wind, if he chooses

I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
Cail heaves deep breaths, hands on knees... (only 2hp short of his usual tank-dom now)
Most of you are standing over a dying Goblin. And it's still afternoon.
Alarion asks the goblin "Who do you work for, why did you ambush us, and do you know of a human that matches this description?" (He describes Sildar based on what Gabriel has said).
"just told, not my fault please don't kill me" shudders the Goblin
I will skip over methods used to make the goblin talk:
"Klarg runs this cave! He big, real big. Hallwinter, that guy, yes, he be chained in Klarg's place."

"Klarg! he know how to get gold. Then some boy make him scared! Don't know, dont know!" the goblin covers his face
'I help you pretty lady. Dont let them loose the dams. Go up sneaky."
The Goblin's eyes roll back in his head
Despite your efforts, the Goblin is fading.
A human-sounding voice curses - then a dog like whine - and more sounds of chains within the cavern
Kathrine casts spare the dying on the goblin. As it takes affect she glances to the others. "Sounds like some sort of trap, maybe we best move in quietly when we head that way." She looks to the goblin. "If he lives, i suggest you allow him to leave here, as he may have helped us greatly."
"No, angel lady, those are just our dogs and -" the Goblin twitches
"The fresh meat. The other prisoner. Pleeeease Lady let me go?"
"You are free to go, just please don't make us regret it." Kathrine says with a nod. "Leave this area and find a new clan to live with, who does not seek to attack those on the roads." The Goblin at their feet opens his eyes wide and then closes them quickly.
"Angel lady and nice big man. Bad other men!"
He rolls into a fetal position on his side, shuddering.
The Goblin curls into a ball, falling asleep with his arms wrapped around his legs, muttering "Angel lady... bad men."
The dark cave entrance is ahead.
A stream flows out of the cave on the left. You stand on the right, and there is a path that leads in on this side, next to the water.
The barking from inside has ceased...
The Goblin scampers away, up the valley. His head jerks back to look at you a couple times, as if confused.
"You can call me Fizzle." he says before disappearing over the side of the hill.
The party heads to the entrance of the dark cave. Alarion has offered to scout ahead due to his darkvision.
