Ok! Tom and Vor gain a level of exhaustion (which I already put on your sheets). You can hear the sounds of picks on stone as you draw a bit closer. Do you want to continue in a group or send scouts ahead?
Tom puts on a brave face but behind his visage he is clearly tired. He says in a hushed tone, “Can you hear that up front... sounds like it could be miners. Duradin, do you believe it could be a Dwarven mining crew?”
"Based on what we have been told, it may be unlikely that it is Dwarven miners, I suggest that whatever we do, we proceed carefully." Tegid whispers back, "I feel splitting the party may not be the best move, however if it may be more beneficial to break into smaller groups that all approach quietly - rather than one large group no?"

Morisul shook his head negatively. "We could sneak up to check them out, I'm pretty good at it, but there's a better option." He pointed at his owl. "I can see through its eyes and worst come to worst I can just summon it again."
"That could work, and not raise too much suspicion, if we do that, we should try and hide where we are, just in case someone comes stumbling along this way"
Tegid nods at Morisul's suggestion and waits to see what the others say

He nodded and sat down, trying to be as hidden as he could. "While this is going on, my senses are with the familiar, meaning I am blind and deaf to anything happening here." With that, he sent his mind along the special link formed between the spirit that was his familiar. It could be jarring, to suddenly be a bird, but he was pretty used to it from years of practice.
Taking off into the air, trying to be as silent as owls actually were, he flew toward the noises.
"Surely a few kobolds will not be a match for warriors such as us." Tom ventures boldly, "Though the chance to thin their number somewhat does sound appealing."
Duradin, unable to help his curiosity, shambles over and snaps a little bit in Morisul's ears, just to see if there's a reaction of any kind.
Duradin grunts in agreement with Ava.
"Aye, I'm less worried about kobolds and more about their master. Still, sound's like a mining operation going on up there - what would be the worst is if they've already found the tomb, and are trying to break in. Then it'll really be hell trying to scour them from unfamiliar corridors."
You see 8 kobolds inside what must be the tomb, working on opening what appears to bee a side corridor. From farther inside, you can see wisps of smoke and the sparkle of gold, silver and gems.
Disconnecting from the familiar's senses, he opened his own eyes and relayed what he saw. "There are about 8 kobolds, that I saw, working on opening a side corridor. Farther in I saw what seemed like smoke and a glint of gold, silver and gems. That's about it."
"A side corridor of what? Did your familiar start to fly down a tunnel? I wonder what's driving them other than their desire to hoard treasure for themselves? If there's only 8 there, it's possible there's more somewhere close - if we go we should take care."

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
"If there's kobolds working on a side passage, they might have already cleared the large stones that normally hide the entrances to dwarf tombs of the old style. And you say you saw smoke and a golden glow? It seems the dragon we've been trying to avoid learned of this tomb before we did, and may have made its lair there. This is going to be, well, an adventure. If I don't survive, tell my king I died in his service. And, I think that's a good idea, Vor. Get another paid of eyes on the situation. Morisul, can you see if there is a good way for Vor to approach without being seen, heard, or smelled? Perhaps we could use the same avenue to get the jump on these minor servants without alerting their master."
