The driver sighs "I always have to do this myself. I guess I'll have to sacrifice to fix the wheel." He goes up to a tree with a low, thick branch sticking out of it, then cuts a large enough piece of wood out of it. It took a few minutes since he was using a dagger, but it worked
"This may take a while. Why don't you guys take a rest."
He then gets to work carving away at the chunk of wood, it takes an hour or so to carve the wood into the optimal shape for the wheel. Once he's done, he puts the newly carved wedge into the broken spot, then cuts about 6 inches off the rope he was given to tie the piece firmly onto the wheel. "There we go! Now we can get back on the trail." He yells when he's done. (If you decide to take a short rest, gain it's benefits.)
You were able to help out and slightly reduce the time it took to fix the wheel, but occasionally when you try to help put it in the right place or help with the wedge, he would slap your hand away.
(Okay so are we moving along, or does anything else happen while the wheel gets fixed?)
You move along the trail with no problems, but as your going through the trail, you see the occasional figure through the mist of the forest, but you can't make them out because you only see them for a split second.
It takes another thirty minutes or so until you reach atown carved into a gargantuan oak tree. When the tree first comes into view, it appears to be just an oversized oak tree, but when it comes more into view, you see many platforms surrounding it, with a few wood elves and drow patroling on them. It's hard to see, but you can see glassless windows and doors carved directly into the tree. Sitting right at the base of tthe tree is a suspicious looking chunk of wood that appears to be a doorway. "Here it is; Elvenoak! Ever since the civil war started, Elvenoak has become more strict on who can enter the city, you have to go up to that arch in the tree and when someone asks you about your business state why your there, but don't try to lie about why your there, because they'll think your trying to take down the city and most who do lie... well... they die. Also, don't cause too much trouble in the town, because... I'll just say, a drop from the tree will be fatal. Good luck!" He then pulls away from the city, back into the misty woodland.
Poll nods in thanks to the helpful chariot driver. "Well, we could risk telling them why we're here. The artifacts are guarded by monsters, and maybe those monsters are not welcome here. Plus, they seem not to like the civil war, so telling them what we want the artifact for may actually be a good thing. Then again, we could try to bluff and deceive our way in. I can make myself look like an elf, and I speak elvish. But, well, I don't know much about this place, so we could be found out quickly."Polly says, looking up into the branches.
"shall we go to the archway? I can speak for us in elven if need be. Based on our drivers advise we should probably be forthright in our reason for visiting and also ask for someone knowledgeable about legends and for library access."
Caya figures that they probably shouldn't reveal everything, yet not lie either. In elven, she says, "We wish to seek the knowledge of Elvenoak. We mean you and the people inside no harm; we come with good intentions."
Before walking up to the arch Tuner would have said: "We can tell our intentions of seeking out a way to end the civil war, though I don't think we should lead with searching out ancient relics thought lost to time. Better not to raise suspicion on ourselves. Now, I will let you do the talking, I don't speak Elvish." And he falls back to the rear of the group when walking up.

The voice is silent for a few seconds, but it says "I can sense your not telling the full truth. Tell the full truth, or there will be consequences."
Brightmoon starts to speak, but realizes that since Caya started she needs to be the one to respond or she may face the consequences if he appears more truthful.

Polly would also have offered to chop off a branch but she gives the driver a hand as best she can, working on the wheel.

If you choose to.

She looks at the group questioningly.
"shall we go to the archway? I can speak for us in elven if need be. Based on our drivers advise we should probably be forthright in our reason for visiting and also ask for someone knowledgeable about legends and for library access."
As you approach the arch-like part of the tree, you hear a deep and grovel voice coming from inside the tree "State your business. No lies."
Caya figures that they probably shouldn't reveal everything, yet not lie either. In elven, she says, "We wish to seek the knowledge of Elvenoak. We mean you and the people inside no harm; we come with good intentions."
