Mason walks over to the librarian and asks "We are research ancient lore and would like to find elders in your community who may have knowledge of past events. What would be the best place to find such elders?"
Polly peruses at random in the A-E section, grabbing a book gently, and reading a few pages. When Mason speaks up, she looks at the librarian, and tries to charm them. "We'd be very grateful for the help. It's for a sincerely good cause. Fate of the world and all."
Not speaking Elvish Tuner feels at a disadvantage in this city, so he keeps to the back of the group. Looking around if he sees any strange movements since we told we were looking for the relics, first when entering the city and then in the library. (Perception: 11)

She does appear flattered by your charms, but you hear an elder male half elf in the F--J section yell at you "Hey! That's my wife your talking to!" mistaking you for flirting with her. "Go! Get out of here!" He points at the door. (What disguise is Polly under?)

You are unable to find any more books that are on the Relics of Chroma.
Brightmoon leaves the library and starts looking for elder elves in the town square area.
When you ask the elders of this town, but they mainly answer you with "Relic of who?" or "How would I know where one is?". Then, this young female high elf approaches you and says "Good, an adventurer. Please, my grandfather has been kidnapped! Taken by the orc tribe! Please! I'm begging for your help!"
She's breathing heavily, but she says "So, we were on our stroll through the forest, just the two of us, when we got jumped by orcs. They held both of us down, but I was fortunate enough to break free and escape, but my grandfather was too weak. They took him, but I don't know where. Oh, my poor grandfather! Why didn't I try to save him?" She breaks down crying.
"Th-th-thank you. Please, follow me!" Before you can say anything, she grabs your arm and drags you out into the woods up to a part of the woodland with fewer trees, the mist seems to be a bit thinner here. (You are alone right now. The others are still in the library, unaware of this situation.)
Polly didn't adopt any disguise after the guidance they received. She's herself. When the librarian's husband speaks up, Polly looks surprised, briefly abashed, and then waggles her eyebrows at the both of them. She says with a small giggle, "I guess I don't know the strength of my own personal magnetism. No harm intended! I'll be off, then."She walks out, gives a low bow from the doorway, and spins on her heel with a flourish, and winks at the librarian over her shoulder.
When the young elf approaches them about her grandfather, Polly whispers to the others, "If I'm being paranoid, I'd bet that the orcs are after something similar to what we're after. Worst-case scenario, we save someone's grandpa and maybe he knows something about what we're after. Let's go!"
EDIT: (I posted before seeing the DM clarify that the elf was moving fast and we might not have seen this happen. Polly was headed out after being encouraged to leave the library, so perhaps she saw? If not, then, well, she doesn't say those things, if she doesn't see it happen.)
"It doesn't hurt making friends in a new place. So far they haven't been that helpful. And well, clearing some orcs while making friends, I say: let's go!" Tuner says and he follows behind.
Caya nods in agreement. "Besides, we couldn't leave an elderly man in need alone even if it wasn't directly beneficial to us. He's helpless; he needs us."
(I'll just say while the woman was dragging Brightmoon out, you guys noticed and followed. Sorry about the delay to post.)
You are now in a patch of the forest where the trees are far more spread out, and the mist is slightly thicker. There seems to be a very eerie vibe where you are.
Caya will say, "Miss, please get behind us. Everybody else, let's form a circle around her. We need to protect this civilian." Caya draws her sword and shield, trying to peer into the darkness for any flicker of movement. Perception: 7
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Since Brightmoon is not sure his party is close he draws both sword and tells the girl "go back to the tree, if you see any of my friends point them this way" he casts minor illusion and sends a bright ball 30 feet in the air. He also peers around looking for orcs (perception:7)

Brightmoon's allies arrive just seconds after he arrives. When the both of you peer into the woods, neither of you see any figure of any kind. (Also, the woman is not a young girl, she's a young woman. Just putting it out there)
Mason addresses the group "So we have a new friend who is leading us ..." he turns to the young woman "where exactly are you leading us? Caya indicated that we need to protect you. What exactly are we protecting you from?"

"Slow down young lady, please tell me everything you can about what has happened."
As Brightmoon tries to calm her down to get details, he looks around for anyone else in the party and waves them over.
She's breathing heavily, but she says "So, we were on our stroll through the forest, just the two of us, when we got jumped by orcs. "Don't worry, we will help you. Can you take us to the place where this happened?"

I would stop her before we left the square and say "Hold on, it will take more than me to take on a band of orcs let me get my friends"
If that fails for some reason I would cast minor illusion with my voice saying "Woods, lead, orcs" into the library and mark my trail as we go.

Mason is confused by the voice from Brightmoon and walks out of the library trying to find his friends.
(OOC: DM to determine if Mason is able to follow or not from the perception roll)
