Polly-as-Rhun extends her arms to the side, palms downward. "Enough. We are not starting any conflict here,"she says, looking at the guards. And then, back to the party: "We have taken plenty of the King's time. Be at ease."Then, back at the king: "Do you wish to know the names of the brave souls who will be hunting these artifacts? Or is it enough that they be brought here? And I think it would help a great deal if they had a sign of your blessing, a letter or a write of some kind telling anyone who might interfere that they are on a royal mission."
Mason enjoys the back and forth. He is tempted to throw caution to the wind and say something like "Boring Conversation Anyway" and cast hypnotic pattern on the King and his guards, but he controlls his impatience. He holds a look of loyalty and deference to Polly-as-Rhun knowing that she/he is the spokesman/woman.

The second guard gives you a fierce look, however, he doesn't say anything. "I don't need to know their names, and my people wouldn't care less if you were on a royal mission, so what's the point of making a letter?" The king looks at his guard "Please excuse him, he hates it when people start questioning me."
Polly-as-Rhun nods silently, then looks at the rest of the group. If there are no further questions, the illusory dragonborn bows lower than before, in respect and apology for the tumult, and then backs out of the room. Polly is happy to have a direction to be pointed, some information to share with the princess, some leads on the potential sources of the king's corruption or madness or bad advice in the form of the guards. Once they are able to leave through the portal, she will look for a place to drop her form and return to the cave to talk more freely.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As they leave the king Brightmoon looks around to observe the other servants and people in the area. Trying to determine the mood of the inhabitants. (Perception: 12) As they near the portal he is watching to see who is watching them, and to see if they are being followed. (Another perception as they are leaving: 10)

You do not see any servants within the throne room.
You got a clear look around the town ruins, and it is clear that nobody is watching you.
Once you get back to Remanant, and into the cellar, you see Lirah sitting in the same spot with her head down. When you enter, she looks up and says "How was it? What did he say?"
Caya nods. "That's one piece of good news. I'm pretty sure that the king was being truthful, but also that he was hiding something. I'm worried what he will do with them, as they seem to be able to start calamities as well as end them. I have a bad feeling about this, but what other option do we have if we want to end the war?"
Brightmoon ask the princess "can you tell us anything about Five Relics of Chroma? Are give us any ideas of who to ask or what regions to travel to where they may be located? Do you think they could be the cause of your father's changed behavior?"
Caya nods. "That's one piece of good news. I'm pretty sure that the king was being truthful, but also that he was hiding something. I'm worried what he will do with them, as they seem to be able to start calamities as well as end them. I have a bad feeling about this, but what other option do we have if we want to end the war?"
"Are you talking about the Five Relics of Chroma? Nobody could even survive long enough to find one, but you all seem like you can handle it. When your ready, I recommend starting with the Green Relic of Crolid." She takes out the letter from Caya "Also, I'm... headed out to Linxakasendalor, because I know I won't be safe in this cellar forever. You may not hear from me for some time, so best of luck saving Dragoneye." She stands up, puts away the letter, pulls up her hood, and then leaves the room.
"Well, anyone know where Mistgrove is? If not I suggest we head back to town and see if we can get information at one of the shops or a tavern. I'll start at the One Wave, that place seemed like it would be a good place for information."
Removes his disguise and drops the illusion. Waits to see if anyone else has a better idea, if not heads to the shop to speak with the young lady he bought the kits from.

"I'd prefer the one near Aquabrook, but I'll follow the others."

You head over to One Wave where the young woman greets you politely as you walk in "Welcome back! How may I help you today?"
Do we have a map or general understanding of the kingdom? Where the cities/places are, what's near them, where we are in comparison...
If not, it's a roll of the dice, and Polly's good with whatever the group wants.
I am also wondering this. The Linxakasendalor tribe is somewhere on the outskirts of Mistgrove, so Caya might know at least the general location. Although, if they don't, Caya's also happy to do what the group wants.
"Hello, again. I am planning on doing some travelling in this kingdom and was wondering if you happen to sell any maps or know of the best routes of travel?"
While he is speaking with her, he is also signing in thieves cant *do you know where I can obtain information about arcane myths and legends*
(OOC: Brightmoon would not have gone to the shop while the rest of the party was sharing their knowledge of the kingdom, but he would want to go before they left town to see if he could gather other information if a map was not needed. He would still use the same actions at the shop so far)
"The princess seems to think the green one is the best first option, so I think we should go with that. When we get them before handing them over to a madman we should consider maybe exploring options that are more secure in not ending in an annihilation of a lot of people."
I think (having worked on both sides of the war) Tuner should have a reasonable idea of the lay of the land and safe routes to travel from point to point.

She gives a concerned look "Uh, sure. Maps are in the back, but I don't understand what 'this'..." she makes a quick and very inaccurate imitation of what you made in theives cant "...means. Are you drunk?"
"I'm not asking how. I'm asking what. Calm down."
I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)

Brightmoon tells the group "I am fairly sure no one paid any attention to us after we left the throne room."
Caya nods. "That's one piece of good news. I'm pretty sure that the king was being truthful, but also that he was hiding something.
