"Huh. Whaddaya think we should do with this book?" Lostur starts puzzling out what else the book might say, flipping through a few pages at random and reading through them silently, trying to figure out what they do.
Lostur with the time you have you can glean little from the book other than it is written in abyssal and its title is Daemonum Liber. It would take time and study to learn more. Do you take it?
There is little else of interest in the room beside the two chests. Do you all leave?...and if so do you take the door to the left or the door to the right. They are both ornately carved wooden doors with brass handles.
Brenvull picks up the silver ball sullenly. "I agree Lorvax. I would rather have not made a deal with this fiend as well. Though the other option seemed for us to fight it, and I think we might not have survived that. And then the Elf would have had her way anyhow... Should we check these chests or just continue on?"
"We all agree this was nothing we wanted to do. But you did. I again feel humble under your bravery brothers. Still we should hurry..."
Kray cloes her eyes and tries to sense the presence of the evil magic or ritual. Something like that should desecrate the holy ground they were standing...
Lorvax nods stoically at the other's words, "It is a path most dark we tread friends; for once we start justifying actions as the 'lesser of two evils' we compromise ourselves." His face darkens, "How much evil has been wrought through such justification?"
Casting his eyes over to the chests, Lorvax shrugs, "Might there be something useful in them? Something which might aid us in our fight against this Aseneth?"
Lorvax you quickly open the two chests. They contain various items used in bargaining with summoned entities and have been left here by the elf to be collected later it would seem. One holds odd but mundane items: a bag of humanoid teeth, a jar of powdered bone, dried goblin flesh, and three flasks of (now dried) blood. The second chest contains a pouch of 10 garnets worth 100 gp each and a human skull gilded with gold, sporting a pair of aquamarines in its eye sockets, worth 1,500 gp. (Take what you wish and I will presume that Lostur takes the book for further study unless you indicate otherwise).
You all leave the room that leads back toward the temple area and have a choice of two doors. One to the left and one to the right?
"Sacrilegious abominations!" Lorvax curses, quickly slamming the chest shut. "These chests and all within them should be destroyed... if not now, then after Aseneth has been laid low." He quickly removes a knife from his backpack and carves a small 'x' into the sides of both chests before joining the rest of the party in the temple area.
Spotting the two doors in front of them, he turns to the others,"There always seems to be a choice of two paths... Any thoughts on which door to choose?".
((Is there any differences Lorvax is able to discern when it comes to the doors - Is one more used? Or emanating any light, smell, sound? Or are they exact copies of each other?
(yes, Lostur takes the book. Sorry, I got a chemical burn from some super hot peppers on my hand yesterday and couldn't type at all!)
Lostur looks at both of the doors. "... Should I try blasting one?" He scratches his head, squinting at them, trying to see if they're somehow trapped.
The door swings open to reveal a small dusty workshop. Three long tables sit here. One holds glassware, burners, and jars of powders and liquids. The second holds crafting tools and scraps of metal, glass, and wood. The third is flanked by a pair of wooden stools and is piled with bolts of cloth and sewing instruments. A tall cabinet and shelves hold various materials in labelled bins, boxes, and jars.
A large tapestry hangs on the far wall, depicting a green dragonborn, wearing a red and gold robe. The dragonborn is in the midst of a magical duel with a human woman in blue who is riding a griffon and holding a staff capped with a large crystal. You all recognise this as a depiction of a great battle between two powerful sorcerers of your time. The dragonborn Valleros adopted and raised the human child Eletha, but once grown she joined the cause of her own people and turned his own secrets against him. Valleros was forced to slay his adopted daughter and then wracked by grief he fled into the wilds, never to be seen again.
A circle inlaid with metals and semi-precious stones is inscribed in the floor in front of the tapestry.
Brenvull you know this to be a teleportation circle. It will when standing within it transport you to the next level of the tower. You just need to think the word "up" to activate the spell.
Lostur approaches the table full of crafting tools and starts to root about it, looking for a set of thieves' tools. He eyes the gems on the floor, and then ask the others, "What's that about? Is it useful? Should we check out the other room too?"
"I think we should quickly check out the other room, we do not want anything following from behind. But this is the way up" pointing at the circle "And it is as simple as that, just stand there and think 'up'"
Brenvull walks to the other door and pushes it open carefully to see what's behind.
"Agreed,"Lorvax walks behind Brenvull, Halberd in hand, ready to meet any threat that should emerge from beyond the door, "It'd be foolishness if we blindly went in one direction, only to find out our quarry lies behind this door. Tread carefully brother."

Arcana. 3, lol
"Probably burn it. But later. Let's find this Aseneth and finish her ritual and her life..." says Kray.

"Look quickly if you must while I try to locate her " replies Kray. She is clearly anxious about this elven witch finishing her ritual.

The doors are both the same. It is a simple choice of left or right.

(This should be fun: investigation - 12)
You see no evidence of a trap on either door.
(...and ouch.)

„They both look pretty safe to me,“ Lostur declares, striding up to the door on the right and preparing to throw it open.
(he will if no one makes a post to stop him)
Kray follows Lostur ready to defend him if necessary.
