Lorvax stares at the Vrock with a cold fury. He raises his Halberd and prepares to unleash another wave of attacks.
((If I am able to use a reaction, I'll use 'Blood Curse of Exposure' to remove any resistances the Vrock has to Lorvax's attacks - I'll let you rule if this is appropriate / meta-gaming or not.))
To the casual observer, all they would be able to see is a whirl of motion, as Lorvax circles the Vrock; jabbing, thrusting and slashing whenever there is an opening.
Lorvax you release your blood curse and grin as you see a shimmer of magical essence around your weapon and then again around the fiend as the curse takes effect.
Feinting a stabbing motion towards the vrock's body, Lorvax instead, at the last moment, slashes his halberd around in an arc and connects with the beasts neck just below the head. There is a wet THUNK on the ground as the vrock's head lies at his feet, decapitated. He kicks the head away angrily as he turns to his party,"Damned bird, got what was coming to it."
Lostur lets out a satisfied sigh as the vrock topples to the ground. Dark smoke rises out of the body, wafting over to Lostur and sinking into his skin, closing his wounds. He opens his eyes and cracks his neck, a grin on his face. "Let's get this shrine all neat and pretty," he grunts, turning around and giving the ghostly figures a thumbs-up.
Lostur as you give the thumbs up you note that the ghosts are all drifting closer, looking up at you expectantly. Amongst them you see now a giant Elk and a tiny weasel have joined the throng of trapped spirits.
Seeing the elk and the weasel gives Lostur pause. He hesitates, and then says to the others, "Uhh... let's not try to die in here." He fingers the coin in his pocket, but releases it after a moment, a troubled look on his snout. "Think maybe this place traps the souls that kick it here." He points at the shrine and looks at Brenvull expectantly. "Better get this thing cleaned, right?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the Vrock fall a grin appears on Brenvull's face. "All evil will perish before Bahamut!". He start gathering the things he needs for the cleansing ritual and instructs the others what they should do, taking a little more time than the previous times, this being the final shrine and all. When he finally starts the ritual he also expands some magic.
Religion: 11 (If advantage because help: 21) (( Expanding a 1st lvl spell slot (could be bless or something), has no mechanical advantage, purely for flavor ))
Lorvax mind briefly wanders as he hears the voice sounds in his head, he stands for a moment gormlessly rooted to the spot. He looks over to where Brenvull is preparing his ritual,"Have you been successful in cleansing the shrine?"he asks absent-mindedly.
Brenvull you complete the ritual with the aid of your companions and as a final mark of your reverence for Bahamut you invest a portion of your power into the cleansing. For a moment nothing happens; then with a burst of cold white flame the last shrine begins to fill the temple with its divine power. The spirits begin to come together in the centre of the great chamber. All of them gathering together into a single orb of blazing white light. The light expands and takes form until you stand once more in the presence of your ancient master Balorian.
His ghostly form towers over you and his eyes study each of you in turn. Brenvull you feel your heart burst with pride as he speaks to you first.
"My faithful steward. Well done. It has been an age since the this temple has been purified and now it is released from the dark and terrible powers that the human mages released here."
To you then Lostur, "You have fought demons within and without to destroy this evil and free the souls trapped within and for that you have my gratitude and respect."
Kray you feel the dragons eyes upon you next, "My fierce daughter you have proven yourself amongst the mightiest of my warriors and my blessing goes with you."
"...and to you also Lorvax. Your strength and endurance have brought your kin to victory against all odds. You all have given my people rest and now so may I rest with them. The gates to the Twilight Tower stand unlocked before you. What boon would you ask of me before you leave this place to seek your destiny?"
"Of course master. Anything to rid this place of evil! Do you have any directions on where we should go next? The world seems to have changed a lot in our time away."
(( Was the boon a offer to all of us? If so, what kind of boons should we think about? ))
(OOC : Yes it was to all of you. Just ask for what you feel would be natural for your character to ask. Balorian will honour your request as best as he is able)
The great dragon considers your question Brenvull. "The world has indeed changed much, and not for the better. I would have you seek out the remnant of our kin and forge a new bright destiny for them and yourselves, but such a task is no paltry thing and should you choose to seek happiness and freedom beyond these walls for the days that remain to you; I would not be disappointed."
Lostur thinks very hard, and then timidly and uncharacteristically says, "M-my lord Balorian... I know it might be impossible, b-but... I... I want to be like the others. I... I want..." He fiddles a bit, trying hard to overcome his embarrassment, before finally letting it spill out: "I want a tail! A tail like everyone else! I know I was born without this sorry excuse for a stump, but I want to be whole and proud and secure, just like the rest of you!" His eyes water with the thought of it, and you can see his simple-minded reasoning is pretty honest.
(LOL he's a ravenite, I just realized he has either no or a very sad tail. I kind of hope growing it back would give him a charisma boost, too >:D )
Balorian laughs quietly and not unkindly and taking a deep breath he releases a gout of divine power that envelopes you Lostur. You feel yourself being lifted from the ground and turned in the air as a sudden tingle blooms on your hind quarters. A bright light envelopes you and as your feet touch the ground once more you suddenly feel different. A little off balance somehow. You turn to see that you wish has been granted. You have a tail.. and a damned fine tale at that.
"A tail fit for a dragon." Balorian chuckles as he watches you admiring your new appendage. (You now have the "Swagger" feat. Go check it out).

Lorvax, as the Vrock drops to the ground dead you hear soft laughter at the back of your mind. Luxure speaks in a voice that only you can hear.
Well done my good brave boy.
The final shrine stands before you all, ready for cleansing and beyond it stand the doors to the Twighlight Tower and freedom.
