Debauchery grimaces, using his forearm to wipe away the dripping blood from his shoulder. He offers a quick wink to Oricoril. "All in a day's work," he grunts. "But let's try not to let that happen again."

Zoomi, the more focused of the pair, hopped off Sofia's shoulder as the strange brain creature lurched forward.  Pay attention!  he boomed into her noggin before rushing forward and begining to run around it in an attempt to distract it in some form.

"Chew on this ya bastard!"  Slink says, gripping the light end of the dagger in her right hand.  She pulls back her arm, eye on the creature and throws the weapon,  releasing it at the top of her arc.

Felix, as you fire off your blast, you miscalculate in it's power, and it send you stumbling back. Make a DC12 DEX save for me. If you fail, you trip over yourself, and start your turn prone.

Debauchery spins, blades whirling.

Ori and Debo hit! The Grell screams and staggers!

"What is it Zo... What the hells is that!!" Sofia shouted out as she saw her comrades attacking what at first blush looked like the hybrid child of a octopus and a bird that couldn't decide what form to take, and so choose neither.  Holding out her gloved hand in front of her, the runes etched in the fabric began to glow before a small puff of smoke appeared over the creature raining a small pool of acid onto it.  (DC13 DEX Save or take 4 Acid Damage)

Why didn't you tell me about this sooner!?! she shouted at her familiar.

I tried but you continued to stare at some random pile of dust, it boomed back in a droll manner.  (Zoomi will continue to use the Help action to give the next attack roll against the creature advantage.

Muttering, Felix stands up using the wall for support. He glances down at his hand in disgust at the grime on it before his tentacle lashes out with a flick of his eyes Attack: 17 Damage: 12 and his third eye lights but blasting at it Attack: 11 Damage: 11

"And that is that."

And that was indeed that. The grell died, gurgling in a pool of it's own blood. The only sound left in the room was that terrible vague chanting.

Debauchery slumps a bit, tearing a bit of his sleeve to bandage his wound. "Well, that was fun....shall we find the source of these chants?"

Slink heads over to the bloody grell to retrieves her dagger.  She pulls it out and looks at Debauchery..."you need any help tying that?"  She asks as she cleans her dagger off on her pant leg.

"That...was unpleasant.  As is this chanting."  Sofia commented once the Grell was felled.  Moving towards it's remains, she knelt in front of it as she twirled her hand around in circle, summoning another puff of smoke.  Seemingly drawing a set of small knives out of the ether, she began to examine it's remains to see if there was anything useful should could discover (Using her Minor Conjuration Ability to conjure random objects).  (Investigation: 10)

(Has the chanting becoming any clearer?  Sofia's Comprehend Languages should still be up for a while)

Debauchery waves Slink off, giving her an appreciative smile. "Thanks, I've survived worse," he says before leaning back against the wall, closing his eyes and doing some quick rhythmic breathing. After he moment, he opens them, seemingly re-energized and re-focused. "Just needed to catch my second wind. Shall we carry on?"

Oricoril will crouch down by the dead creature, scratching his head a bit "what a strange thing to keep in a basement? Regardless of if this family was victim to this creature, something still seems very off. Let's push forward and crack this case my friends." He'll close his eyes and say a quick prayer before rising and pressing forward.

"Yeah, that stupid chanting is still going."  She addresses the room..."it's not very catchy, maybe you need to change the tempo a bit."  Slink exits the room, flipping one of her daggers and making a pretend throw down the hall.
