Arriving at the next room, Sofia was puzzled by the meaning of the chant emanating from the space. "He is the Ancient... He is the Land... What could that possibly mean...?" Sofia mused to herself out loud. As Zoomi moved around the space looking for anything notable, Sofia tried to discern where the voices were coming from.

Debauchery readies his blades, looking to the others and nodding toward the sound of the chanting. “I’d like to shut that nonsense up.”
"Or at least subdue them to figure out what they're talking about..." Sofia mumbled quietly to herself as she prepared for what she assumed was another fight; she was growing tired of these... things and rather looking forward to life after this place. "Let me check out the place first thought before we rush in there." Sofia added before sending the unseen servant up ahead. After a few moments (assuming it doesn't trigger something dangerous or gets destroyed), she'll send Zoomi along as well to stealthily scout the space through his eyes.

The chanting is loud here. The smooth masonry walls provide excellent acoustics. Featureless stone pillars support the ceiling, and a breach in the west wall leads to a dark cave heaped with refuse. Murky water covers most of the floor. Stairs lead up to dry stone ledges that hug the walls. In the middle of the room, more stairs rise to form an octagonal dais that also rises above the water. Rusty chains with shackles dangle from the ceiling directly above a stone altar mounted on the dais. The altar is carved with hideous depictions of grasping ghouls and is stained with dry blood.
Debauchery takes a long hard look at the silver sword in his hand. "Spirits possibly...or worse," he says with disdain. "Lost souls." He spins the blade slowly before turning to the others. "This will be no normal skirmish. It will take all we've got and likely a few of us may not make it out," he chuckles, pausing. "That's my rousing and inspiring speech." Looking up with a rare serious look on his face. "This is when we ask ourselves are we really ready to do this." Grasping his sword more firmly he says, "I know I am."

Oricoril will move towards the front of the group, "Yes, for what it's worth, we've come this far against the odds. Let us continue and finish this in victory guided by our wits and the powers above that might grant us strength."

"Yeah, now that I can understand the lyrics I like this chant even less. Lets shut these talentless hacks up." Slink says, checking her bowstring and adjusting her pack. She looks at the group..."As they say, fortune favors the bold. So bold it is."

The water is 2 feet deep. The ledges and central dais are 5 feet high (3 feet higher than the water’s surface), and the chamber’s ceiling is 16 feet high (11 feet above the dais and ledges). The chains dangling from the ceiling are 8 feet long.
The hole in the west wall leads to a naturally formed alcove.

Debauchery points to the alcove with his sword. "I'm going to check that out. Watch my back," he says, starting to step away and stopping to look back with a lopsided smile at Ori. "That doesn't mean hit it." He moves forward carefully.

The ghostly chanting fills this room. You all can discern a dozen or so voices saying, over and over, “He is the Ancient. He is the Land.”
