Let's say that's Eclipse with a Help action giving Advantage to Laitraxa's Acrobaics roll: 22
The ship sails over the cage wagon as the anchor comes down, but it swings with too much force, and the cheap pig iron of two bars snaps as the anchor swings right through it.
Behind the Reaver's Word the Hungry Sky rampages forward, clipping the closest center wagon, crushing or lashing those trying to push the wagon clear. Dozens of orcs are flung through the air with clods of dirt and splinters filling the air around them. A few are plucked from the air by serpentine ropes and dropped on the deck of the demon-ship. One is flung high enough in the air that she grabs hold of the rear rudder of the Word. Screams rise like a tide as arrows and javelins bounce off the creature's body. In the din, you can hear a rhythmic womping sound, like air escaping out from behind a rapidly opening and closing garage door. A moment later the pattern becomes familiar enough to recognize; The Hungry Sky is laughing.
“Laitraxa, can we rip a bigger hole in the cage or lift it off the wagon so the prisoners can escape, if you wrap the anchor around the cage and I bob the ship up and down a few feet?”
Laitraxa takes a quick glance, now that she is close to the cage below, and assesses the situation before she yells an order at Eclipse.
Given how the anchor ripped through two bars already, would the ship sailing forward continue ripping through the cage, or potentially hook it? She wonders if those they freed would be grasped by the ship and drawn to their deaths anyway.
Is the cage bolted to the cart, or is it held on by its own weight alone?
Are the people inside the cage shackled individually? Would a burst of acid on the door or lock be enough to potentially free them?
The cage is bolted to the wagon. It might hold it's weight if detached and suspended by the bars. There's a door with a lock. The individual people aren't restrained inside the cage. It's hard to tell how many people are inside. They didn't much respond to the bars being broken.
The Raver's Word is elevated, so you can see most of what's going on. The Sky is nearly in the center of the wagon circle, tearing into the orcs and being pelted with volley's of pointy implements it largely doesn't seem to care about. There are orcs and a pair of humans on the deck of the Sky, in various states of disarray. The flaming ballista seem to have their fires contained to themselves. Laitraxa is inspecting the slave wagon. Jenaer is at one ballista, with Druaz standing next to the other, having loaded it. Eclipse is at the wheel, ready to 'pop' the ship upward.
OOC: Is the "bottom" of the cage also metal (i.e. the metal cage covers all 6 sides of a cube) or is the bottom just the wooden cart below (i.e. 5 of 6 sides are metal, bottom wood)
With that check, would I be able to find a place to set the anchor that would be the most structurally secure?
Jenaer closes his eyes, breathing in deeply and smiling at the sound of the screams. “Ahoy....... as our captain says.” Jenaer calls out uncomfortably to the Lizard Woman. “Deserting I see, wise choice I must say, they say only the fittest survive and you seem to know how to do that. I must say I’m impressed with how quickly you have turned to destroying your own ship and crewmates. It is a ruthlessness that I greatly admire, and I must admit I am slightly smitten even.” Oblivious to the Pixie and Eclipses plans, Ted fires upon the ship as he jumps with surprise at hearing the sound of laughter. Attack 16 Damage 10

(OOC: Just to be clear, Exlipse’s Post #82 was to all crew on deck, including Janear.)

Yes, center of the top, if placed inside without the ship's momentum behind it. There's no metal to the bottom of the cage, so it's not a full cube.
The hulking mass of the Hungry Sky heaves itself up from it's furrow, smashing down onto the second central broodhauler. Screams and shouts continue, and you can hear several someones yelling to get the wagons underway, and a few drivers have taken to trying to get the mules back into order.
Jenaer's shot sails into the Sky's bag and out the underside, to lodge in deck. As expected the bag's rigging puckers to nearly close the hole. A few moments latter you see a tall half-orc yelling orders and a group of archers fire at the hole Jenarer made. The arrows disappear into the bag in the same area, and though the bag is still holding, you can see the mesh isn't doing as good a job closing the holes.
Laitraxa moves the anchor into the position she deduced could hold the strongest, using the bulk of her body and pushing with the crown of her head to slot it in place.
She messages to Eclipse - "Take it slow, up and away, or we'll rip off the top in a bad way."
To the cage, she shouts in common. "Hold on tight! This is a rescue!"
"Flock! Okay, taking it slowly!"Eclipse messages back, conscious that he has no clue whether Tyrod has actually made the modification he outlined. The mawn's tail twitches, snapping back and forth, and one hand moves repeatedly between hovering over the drop-hopper lever, and stroking across the moon-shaped arc of white fur splashed across his brow, as he gently urges the Reaver's Word upwards, while simultaneously listening for Laitraxa and keeping a nervous eye on the Hungry Sky. He shouts, his voice strident and clear "Janear, WILL YOU get on the Flocking cauldron?!?"
"If you can help us to ground that cursed ship so that it is no longer a threat to the Reaver's Word, then I will help you to save your doctor, if that is even possible. All right?!?"
(Edited Post)
Seeing her plea to help someone innocent ignored by the Mawn, Theena decided to take matters into her own hands. Theena thought on the Mawn's offer for moment before agreeing to his terms; at this point, she didn't have much of a choice. Noticing that there were now a few people (unwittingly) back on the deck of the Hungry Sky, a thought came to her and she launched into action. Turning towards the Captain, she said, "I have an idea..." before leaving the captain's side. Running towards the edge of the Reaver's Word closest to the Sky, leapt into the air, unfurling her wings at the height of her jump and glided as quickly as possible towards the runaway ship.
(I'll wait to see if she makes it safely on board or if something happens to her beforehand before posting the rest. Let me know if she needs to use a Dash action as well to make the trip)
[Doing quick mental math, he bargains, "If you can help us to ground that cursed ship so that it is no longer a threat to the Reaver's Word, then I will help you to save your doctor, if that is even possible. All right?!?"]
(Thanks I had actually missed that!! I adjusted my post above a bit to incorporate that but my overall idea to use the people on deck to help ground the ship should still fit)
Laitraxa> Anchor is in place. The people in the cages barely acknowledge you...or the rampaging ship headed their way...
Eclipse> The world below is a maelstrom, and getting the ship to rise is fighting it's forward momentum. The the ship does rise, it tilts a bit, rather than staying level. Not enough to impinge on any actions, but it's a little disconcerting.
Theena> It's a dash to move that far in an action, and that assumes dropping vertically a bit at the end. Still, it's the better idea, since it opens you up to less fire. As it is, we'll treat it as four attacks to see if you get hit with anything intended for the Sky.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(It's a minor miracle lol XD.)
Dodging and weaving through the air to avoid all the projectiles aimed for Sky, Theena miraculously managed to land on the deck of the rampaging ship unscathed. "The ship is cursed! We need to destroy the balloon or set the ship on fire!" Theena yelled as she ran towards the orcs and humans on the ship, hoping they understood her and would help.

Not hard at all with your wings. The bigger challenge would be to not get hit by anything being shot at it.
