"I think that's an insightful theory. I think we would have to assume that could be the case. Whether directly corrupted or put on edge. Bonewit's journal pointed our that bird fled the corrupted tree, so they can clearly sense the aura."
Zephyra attempts to distract herself raising an eyebrow in the secret amusement of the others trying to maintain composure as they are pelted with various nuts and seeds then startles briefly to hear hissing so close to her. Then grins to herself at the usually easy going, fluffed up Ufeza.
She murmurs to Thariv, "They most definitely seem influenced by something. I've never seen creatures act like this except in protecting young. It seems most unusual."

Ufeza notice the critters getting more hostile as you progress into the forest. He manages to spot a scurry of squirrels approaching your group and shouts a warning as the feral rodents approach, making everyone else turn towards the swarm as they charge in a cacophony of hisses.

Thariv quickly spots the incoming squirrels. Guided by some mysterious instinct, either from his time at sea or his strange connection to his patron, he feels the power of the high seas welling up inside him.
He steps in front of the others and holds both hands out before himself, one clutching his coral talisman. He hisses an odd word in an alien tongue he does not understand, and the air before him suddenly churns, driven by the powerful force of the wind right at the incoming army of rodents, blowing them back several feet. He holds his position, keeping the wind blowing at them.
"Strike from a distance if you can!"he says to the others. "This will surely slow them down if it doesn't take them out!"
Casting Gust of Wind at the swarm (will wait until they are in range if necessary). Str Save DC 13 to avoid being driven back. Not sure, but it would seem this wind could do some damage or break up the swarm. Just not sure on how that would work in game.

Zephyra spots a shift in Ufeza's demeanor then quick directions from him to the advancing squirrels. She turns to see a rush of the little creatures as they flood from the trees. "Chauntea forgive me." She murmurs and throws two daggers at different charging squirrels hesitating a little to long at the idea of injuring the usually harmless creatures.

Cursing himself for not studying the art of exploding arrows, Luther regains his calm and fires methodically at squirrels, pacing backwards as he does so (moving away while retaining LOS).
Luther's first arrow takes a single squirrel out, followed closely by Ufeza's bolt, which hits the same dead critter.
Strenght saves against gust of wind: 13, 17, 8. A bunch of squirrels are blown into the bushes, they quickly start to regroup and angrily screech back.

The squirrels closer to the group split, half try to get to Thariv, but are slowed by the wind and they don't manage to get close enough to him to do any harm. The second group turns towards Blossom and try to scratch and bite him. Attack: 8 Damage: 9
The group that was blown away manages to close some of the distance to the adventurer's group. Focusing fire in the group that is coming towards Thariv, Luther impales three of them with a single arrow.
