Alastar steps outside into the cool autumn rain. Few people are on the street mostly keeping to the sides near the buildings to get some cover. The sun is still up. Alastar guesses it's about five o'clock.
As the day turns to evening, Leshanna nods to the others. She gathers them together in a private table back in one corner. "We need to get ready." She says to the others. "We won't know who they are, until they start asking for her, so just keep your ears open. I'll mingle with the crowd, paying attention. If I give the signal, then I've found the ones we need to deal with. You should strike while I distract them, hoping to take them by surprise."
Lokat just simply stands and stretches, crossing his arms over his broad chest and pulling them from their stiffened joints.
"Just tell me who to chop and I'll assure you they'll drop." He lets loose a strange, playful growl as he grabs his two handaxes from his belt and walks out of the tavern.
Briar fiddles with her amulet. "My goddess gave me the ability to bless others. I can make three of you better at fighting. I could ready it while we wait and cast it when you give the signal, Leshanna. What do you all think?"
You spend some more time waiting and planning. You overhear some more rumors from around you while you killing time. “I’ll bet my last copper piece that those so-called refugees are advanced scouts for an army that’s preparing to attack Baldur’s Gate!” “With Ravengard out of the way, who’ll be the next grand duke, I wonder?" "My money’s on Thalamra Vanthampur. Practically born in the sewers, she was, and more vicious than a swarm of rats.”
Six motley humans saunter into the tavern. The leader is a brawny man with a cloudy right eye, a cruel sneer, and a pirate’s swagger. The others are an unsavory, rowdy bunch who act as if they own the place.
“We’re looking for an old friend of ours,” says the dead-eyed man. He sniffs the air. “Goes by the name ‘Tarina,’ or so I’m told. Loves to cheat at Baldur’s Bones.”
Lokat eyes the brawny men. Looks like we found Tarina's acquaintances!
"Hey hey!" *He calls out, waving an axe that he has out, leaning beside the bar-stools. He had a bright smile on his face* "How much coin she bleed you out for?!" *He calls out playfully*
When Briar notices them arrive she clutches her amulet tightly, and releases the magic she was holding for this moment. Her blessing is cast on Clara, Alastar, and Lokat.
The dead-eyed man responds to Lokat: "So she is here. Show me where. I'll buy you a drink for your troubles." He does not pay attention to the rest of the party yet.
"Who was that again?" Leshanna says, moving up closer to the leader with a smile. Hearing the name, she figures this must be their quarry and gives the signal for the others. Even as she does so she strikes herself...
Her shortsword strikes like a viper, slashing out at the leader...
To hit: 7 Damage: 9 She then teleports away, opening up the lien of attack for the others. "Take downt eh leader first!" She calls out as she disappears. misty step from eladrin race.
If the attack hits, the leader will take an additional 2 thunder damage if they move before Leshanna's next turn.
"At least ask me my name first, boss. And I don't recall saying this 'Tarina' is here, I just wish to know how much she bled you. This is a tavern! You have to give us more of the story friend! Come! You and your pals have a drink with me, Lokat." He gives a wave of his hand toward the man, as if to await his response to his name.
When Clara sees that the fight has started she releases her arrow on the closest pirate, avoiding their leader "Must bring down his minions first or we will be submerged" Long Bow (vs pirate1): 16 ; damage piercing 11
Readied Actions: Briar hums a short prayer (bless). Clara, Alastar, and Lokat feel a divine presence guiding their actions. Lokat starts to get angry(rage). Clara hides behind a wall.

If nothing other than that seems out of the ordinary, he'll return back in and rejoin the group for further planning.

"That seems like a great idea. I can also conjure small and simple illusions. Let me know if that might come in handy."
