"Names, deeds, how they died, anything that the scribe of the dead could use. I do it for him, and to leave a record of those who have lived and died."
Tarak will return to his position guarding the northern entrance. Once there he will pull a strip of cloth from his backpack and wind it around his wound. Hopefully, that blade wasn't poisoned with some disgusting goblin ichor.
While widespread knowledge of The Grasping Flame is still limited, Tarak's dogged pursuit of its followers leads him to believe these symbols bear an uncanny likeness to what he's learned about them. Likely, this is too close to be a coincidence.

Hmm, seems like a good group, everyone kept their heads...literally. Sydril thinks to herself, a small smile crosses her face at her own joke. "Tarak, do you see any signs of passage at that entrance? Blood, or foot prints?" She says as she reaches the goblin she shot, placing her boot on the body and yanking her arrow out. "I do so dislike goblin blood." She mutters as she shakes the goo off her arrow.
If there are murals painted on the walls, that's permanent. This has to be a proper base of some sort for my foes. Could it be that my long search is coming to an end?
Beyond the broken wall, a wide stairway sweeps into the depths. From your perspective, you can see the wall and stairs are carved with tentacles that end in eyes or fanged mouths. While you can't see too deeply into the stairway, you do note blood stains the walls. Checking the floor, you discover footprints heading both into the hole as well as several heading west.

"Yes, signs of passage here," Tarak responds clutching his double-bladed broad axe tightly and peering down into the darkness. "Anything interesting on those bodies? And why were they pretending to be dead?"
"I follow in the path of the scribe of the dead, so yes you could say it is part of my faith. I also do it because I think everyone should be remembered for the little bit of time they spend on this world," Morrigan responds to Camilla.
Looking over the walls, Morrigan wonders aloud, "I wonder whom these murals depict?"
At Tarak's mention of a path, Morrigan walks over, and glances down at the blood, "Another story to record it seems."
"Ah!"she nods. "Well, that's nice of you!"she admits to Morrigan. Camilla looks around, more with medical curiosity than anything else. "Oh, that reminds me. If anyone is terribly hurt, let me know. Thanks!"she turns to Poopy and gives him a singular nod.
Two of the goblins have little more than their shoddily made scimitars. On the body of the screaming goblin, though, Camilla locates a pouch with the words, "Bartos Brothers Circus and Traveling Players," and an image of a big top tent stitched upon it. Inside the bag are 15 gold pieces and a potion of healing!

With a hefty chop, the screaming goblin screams no more as his head splashes into algae-filled water and his body falls in the opposite direction.

"Wow, did you see how far his head rolled?" Camilla observed, impressed. Then, she realized, "We lived! Nicely done."
Morrigan looks down sadly, "And I never got their names." She quickly records the deaths in her book and glances up. "So, tower or doors?"
”Wait, what are you recording again? Their names?” Camilla asks, curious.
"Names, deeds, how they died, anything that the scribe of the dead could use. I do it for him, and to leave a record of those who have lived and died."
"Is that what he or she asks you to do?" Camilla wondered. "Is this behavior part of your faith?"

Markus shrugs at Morrigan. "In my experience, most of the things that'll try and kill you aren't interested in sharing their life stories with you."
