As Sydril draws near the pillar to read its strange message, the cacophony of whispers grow louder, enveloping her in a tsunami of voices uttering those words over and over. At first Sydril feels the call of the voices, encouraging her to "embrace the crushing end." She momentarily feels the need to leap from the bridge, but shakes her head clear of the absurd urge.
We gain the strength of the temptation we resist. You will not find me so easily lead demon filth. Sydril waits for the others to pass and will proceed behind them.
As each of you pass by the pillar, there is an urge to look and read its strange writings. If you choose not to do so, you make it to the other side of the bridge where a pair of double doors stand. If you decide to read, give me a WIS save.

Camilla looks at the writing, deciphering the words as the whispers intensify with the same message they had for Sydril. The winds howl, the urge to jump rises and then it all comes to a sudden stop. The wind dies. The whispers stop.
And then a much louder voice enters your mind.
"Ahhhh, there you are, pet. I was wondering where you'd gotten off to,"booms a familiar voice that sends shivers down Camilla's spine. "Don't you think it is about time you came home?"
Markus already wasn't planning on reading the strange writings (not like he'd understand them anyway) but he's definitely not gonna do it when he sees Camilla's reaction to reading the writing. "What's wrong? Were those words a warning? Are there demons on the other side of this door?"

Camilla startles at Markus's words, her concentration broken.
"GAH!"she barked, swinging to face him. She looked pale. "Oh, it's just you.No, i'm fine. I read the words. I couldn't help it, i'm curious. Then, I heard a voice. It's been a long time. It startled me. It's probably nothing!"she giggled sheepishly. "Probably Poopy playing a trick on me. Yes."

Morrigan watches as everyone else slaughters the rats. Stepping carefully over them, she walks over to the pillar and whispers a quick prayer to Jergal, "Scribe of the dead and keeper of secrets, aid me and my allies in reading this strange magic and uncovering more of the ancient secrets to tell you when I return to you," and attempts to read it. Save 18
Like the others, Morrigan and Zook feel the rising whispers and feels the urge to jump, but are able to dismiss it. Unlike Camilla, fortunately, there is no beckoning from beyond.
This floor of this room continues the flaming tentacle motif that you have witnessed elsewhere with a mosaic that looks as if tentacles sprout from a burning depiction of Toril. Six columns support the ceiling and a throne sits atop the desolate map at the north end of the room, itself a replica of tentacles and flames with giant unblinking eye embedded in the splat.
