You are led deeper into the fortress, and eventually led towards an open area next to a large, but very utilitarian building, closer to the wwall than the citadel. Your guide tells you:
After a short wait, a hobgoblin come out of the building. Wearing a half plate and almost a head taller than the one who led you here, he is certainly among the tougher specimens of his kind. He scans your group with eyes before speaking:
"I am the centurion in charge of the patrols in the area my men met you. My subordinate said he did not understand your intent. Are you here to join the legion?"
Trying to be respectful, Vrakskan bows to the centurion, a knee on the ground.
"It is a honor" He says. "Forgive our sudden arrival, but we come with news for you and your legion."
He glances at Naasar, hoping that he might take the word from here and that he will convince the centurion of the importance of the proposition they were bringing. Humans were not to be taken lightly.

"Why make me do all of the talking?" nasaar asks as his companions look to him. "I aint that great at talking you know..." he sighs and turns back to the big hobgoblin. "I'm Nasaar, nice to be meeting you I guess." He nods back to his companions. "We were sent here by Old Bear, some druid or nother, who has seen some great human uprising coming our way. He thinks that you legion guys are the key to pushing this human invasion back." He shrugs again. "We are allies against the humans, and are here to seek a way to unite the various legion troops, yours and those further that way..." he points to the other legion castle they were heading towards.
"You're the squad leader? I don't know about bear druids, maybe high command does, but this talk of an upcoming human invasion is big. I trust you have solid evidence to back such a big claim? If so, I will request a meeting with the legate, as he needs to know."
He scratches his head
"As for uniting the legions, it's a commendable desire, but the two legions haven't fought together since the Great War. Even the mountain outpost centurias have a lot of autonomy. It will not be easy to make them submit to the command of another."
"Your words ring true, you all have not had much luck and motivation to work together," Serit starts as he steps up beside Nasaar. "But we assure you that trouble with the humans and their ilk is coming. While we do not have any truly damning evidence we have it on good authority.
"Listen well cousin, we are here to aid the area in preparation. You have no reason to trust us but give us a task and you will see our worth and abilities."
Serit relies on his force of presence to back him up.
„Well we actually do have proof, i have several pieces, one collected from a group of humans down in the forrest and another that the orcs collected. They are starting to scout north and we need to stop them.“ Gara adds.
"I believe that you than are speaking the truth. Another human invasion, like the one centuries ago...
But it will take more than my opinion to reform back into the legions of old. But if you want to prove your worth, things will go much smoother. The legions are a true meritocracy, unlike the undisciplined tribes in the north, or the corrupt kingdoms of humans in the south. Birth or species are irrelevant, onlly your skills, loyalty and dedication to the creed of the legion.
I could sign you guys up as auxillia. That will let you show off your skills and depending on your rank, influence the legion's preparations for the war."
He then turns to Gara,
"Could you show me what you found on these scouts?"
Gruntor, you look around. You see that the troops in fortress are indeed from all kind of monster species. You see a few orcs, a minotaur, a couple of gnolls and so on. You also see a number of troops are scarred, some quite extensively.
I will show the items i found on the scouts and explain that they were searching for something. Once they couldn’t fullfill their mission, they blew themself up in an explosion. I will also show the material i foundt on the ogre.
Nasaar would let out a sigh of displeasure, realizing where this is going. "legion... Never would have guessed I would be joining one of the legions..." He grumbles under his breath,.
Gara, the centurion first looks with mild interest at the items you found, but then nearly jumps forward and grabs the fabrics of you with a sudden movement. For a couple of seconds, you can see can hear the sound of grinding teeth and see the rage on his face before he regains his composure.
"Those things... they are good evidence what what you said is true. The despicable humans are planning an invasion. These scouts, they are actually not scouts in the usual sense of the word."
While fortresses aren't his thing, the firbolg grunts in approval at them having the good sense to build it out of things that don't burn easy.
