Since both Ready Action and Opportunity Attack uses a player's Reaction would only one be allowed to 'activate' until the start of the player's next turn?
I believe the answer is yes, the player would have to choose between one or the other, but I wanted to double-check.
You have to choose between one and the other in the sense that you only have one reaction, and each would involve spending that reaction. But, if the AoO is provoked first, you can always ignore it and get your readied attack later in the round (or vice versa). Ignoring a trigger doesn't cost your reaction.

Once you have used your reaction for 1, you no longer have a reaction to use on the other so...
Thanks! As I said I thought that was the case but just wanted to be sure.
