So, the Warforged race stuff in Last War says they are immune to disease but I’m curious whether they can be afflicted with lycanthropy. Most sources are a bit varied when I researched this and generally folks say either yes because it’s a curse or no due to it also being a disease. Which is it?
also, can Warforged become undead? Most sources I’ve looked at say that they cannot because they are considered constructs but I want to hear what y’all think on these things.
By the rules of 5e, lycanthropy is a curse, not a disease, so sure, warforged can become wereforged. And yes, they can become undead, because in 5e they are not constructs; they are humanoids.
And even if they were constructs... not sure that 5E undead can’t be created from constructs, celestials, elementals, etc etc. The only undead creation effects I see that REQUIRE humanoid are those of a Wight or spells like Create UnDead that specify humanoid corpses. Obviously there’s undead bears, dragons, etc. out there for plot reasons, so if a DM wanted undead vampire golems, sure why not?
So, lycanthropy is a yes but undead is, more or less, up to the DM?
Only in the sense that anything and everything is up to the DM (which is an important sense, to be clear; if a DM thinks something just doesn't make sense, they should feel like they can adjust things to make sense; I probably would not feature warforged vampires at my table). But this is Rules & Game Mechanics, so the RAW answer is that warforged are humanoids and have no special rules whatsoever when it comes to becoming undead. They're exactly the same as any other PC race.
Natural Weapons are weapons, put that worry out of your mind at least. Not all Natural Weapons are Simple Weapons, but some are. Not all Natural Weapons are Unarmed Strikes, but some are. But all Natural Weapons are weapons.
I understand that Warforged can become Wereforged and Undeadforged, as per the Rules as Written, but I keep trying to figure that out in my mind.
What would that look like? Would there be fur, claws, and fangs sticking out of the wood, metal, and other stuff? What would their stats be? Do they get to keep their built in armor bonus? A Wereforged Werewolf would go from a 12 to a 21 armor class (with built in armor, shield and their racial bonus), and go even higher with feats and fighting styles. The Shapeshifter ability says "Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn’t transformed." Does their Integrated armor fall off?
I don't understand where you're getting those AC numbers. Only some lycanthrope types get a bonus to AC, and those that do only get a +1. RAW, that bonus should stack with Integrated Protection, but in the unbelievably unlikely scenario of my having any lycanthrope at my table, let alone a warforged one, I wouldn't allow them to stack.
They get Natural Weapons and are Proficient with them, but that raises the whole "Natural Weapons are weapons, but not Weapons, and thus cannot benefit from any of the abilities that require a Melee Weapon..." Will a Wereforged Monk be able to get their Martial Arts weapon dice with their fangs and claws? Will a Wereforged Paladin be able to Smite with their Natural Weapons?
Interesting questions, but they have nothing to do with warforged.
I'm not clear on if a Wereforged retains their scores when transformed. Are they stuck with the stock ones for a were of whatever type? A Wereforged can easily have a 20 strength, while a Werewolf caps out at 15, and all that makes a big difference when they get into a fight.
Again, unrelated to warforged. Any PC can easily have a strength of 20.
When a Warforged gets killed you can't actually bring their memories back, so all you get is a mindless undead created from their remains. The only spell that affects things that have been killed and brings them back is Raise Dead, and that not only requires a willing target, it brings them back to *life* not Undeath. That kind of means a hard "no" on the Undeadforged.
What are you talking about? When a warforged gets killed, their memory is exactly the same as any other dead humanoid.
So if warforged are considered humanoids in 5e does that mean that they are valid targets for the blight spell. The what can effect them and can't is wired to me just hoping for some clarity on this

Warforged are humanoids in 5e and always have been since they were officially released.
The Blight spell can target any creature, so Warforged are eligible regardless of whether they're humanoids or not.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.

They can be both according to the rules.
