I was wondering what would happen if you had a newborn baby that had a boon of immortality. Would the baby continue aging until it reached it's prime, or would they just stay a baby forever? Could it also be up to the dm?.
In the dmg it does say that, but hypothetically, if the dm decides so, they might give it to a player before then if they were to for example, kill an ancient dragon or something that had been terrorizing a kingdom, in that scenario if the dm gave them all boons of immortality and they had a baby with them, what do you think would happen then?
Alright, just asking for some clarification. I was just thinking that for the first few years of your life you are growing, not aging, but I guess I was wrong.
It says "An epic boon is a special power available only to 20th level characters." That would mean that the baby would have to be level 20 in something. That's what DxJxC said.
Aging gets defined in the dictionary as "The process of growing older". That's not a whole lot of help. I'd have to guess that if you were to say that "growing" is not a function of age, then someone with the boon couldn't learn new things, since your cells wouldn't be changing, and that's why your body breaks down as you age.

The epic boon of immortality available to level 20 characters when they level up?
If you are born at level 21 you can probably magically age yourself with a spell.

The first line in the boon description is: You stop aging. So, you’d stay a baby forever.
