I see that nobody is even mentioning harengons and their feature to add your full proficiency to your initiative, which negates the need for fighter or bard for their initiative buffs. Assuming we get 18s in the 4 init boosting stats, we'd can do something like this:
Barb 8 (adv + 2 ASIs)
Gloomstalker ranger 4 (add Wis + 1 ASI)
Swashbuckler rogue 4 (add Cha + 1 ASI)
War magic wizard 4 (add Int + 1 ASI)
Scorpion Armor (+5)
Sword of Kass (add a d10)
Stone of good luck (+1)
Alert feat (+5 to initiative)
4 ASIs to get the 18s to 20s
1d20 (adv) + 1d10 (kass) + 5(scorpion) + 5(dex) + 5(int) + 5(cha) + 5(wis) + 5(alert) + 6(harengon) + 1(stone of good luck) = 1d20 adv+1d10+37, or a minimum of 39 and a maximum of 67
This would be the most likely scenario (no friend boosts, no magic book powers, no artifact properties, no boons)... perfect for consistently getting on average 58 in initiative

with the addition of the artificer you can add another 10 (int modifier) to initiative rolls and the addition of the harengon which gives you proficienty in initiative rolls what would be the limit now?
i would imagine it being like this:
10 artificer 7 lvls for flash of genius (intelligence to initiative) and the additional 3 lvls for the extra attunement slot (you did it with that thing from the tal'dorei campain setting but im not sure how that works so i thought this would be easier, we have lvls to spare anyway) we can also pick up guidance here. in the 2 asi's that we get we are picking up heavily armored feat and the alert feat
3 swashbuckler rogue add charisma to initiative
3 gloomstalker rogue add wisdom to initiative
2 chronurgy wizard add intelligence to initiative and also the Gift of Alacrity spell
so now we have a initiative bonus of: dex+int+int+cha+wis+1d8+1d4+5+pb
now for the magical items we need:
as many tomes and manuals as we need to get our dex, wis, cha and int to 30 the sword of kas with the minor beneficial property guardian for a bonus of 1d10+2 the scorpion armor for a bonus of +5 the stone of good luck for a +1 bonus and the headband of initiative (again from the tal'dorei setting, idk anything about that but sure)
our bonus now is: 10+10+10+10+10+6+5+5+2+2+1+1d10+1d8+1d4 or simpler 71+1d10+1d8+1d4
now i believe that this is the maximum for a single playercharacter but what if we could bring 1 friend?
so what if we have a lvl 17 bard as a friend of ours he could cast bardic inspiration on us and the lvl 9 spell foresight which would give us advantage on ability checks.
so then the maximum would be 71+1d4+1d8+1d10+1d12+1d20(which we roll with advantage) for a absolute maximum of 125, a minimum of 76 and an average of around 104
Harengons in The Wild Beyond the Witchlight let you add your proficiency bonus to your initiative rolls, I don't already see a mention of this in the original build.

Harengon was mentioned by LexLuxray on page 2, and this thread was started before Harengon even existed. 😝
(for reference, Harengon released in Wild Beyond the Witchlight in September 2021, and the thread started in 2018).

i wonder if you can get higher...
