Hello, hopefully this is the right forum to ask. If a loup garou, as described in Van Richten's Guide, spreads its curse, does the progeny become another loup garou, or just a normal werewolf as described in the MM? And if it's a normal werewolf, does it spread the loup garou strain of lycanthropy, or normal (i.e. can you just remove curse, or do you have to kill the head wolf)? Thank you!
A Humanoid who succumbs to a loup garou’s lycanthropy becomes a werewolf. This form of lycanthropy can’t be removed while the loup garou that inflicted the curse lives. See the Monster Manual for details on lycanthropy.

That’s incorrect. Read the statblock for the bite action. It says that on failure for the CON save you transform in a loud garou
