A druid has ritual casting. Does this mean both 1st level spells at druid level 1 must have a ritual tag?
If not: according to RitualCaster, The wording suggests that the 2 ritual spells in the ritual book are separate from the 2 non ritual spells. Meaning the druid starts off with 4 1st level spells with the abililty to learn more spells by merely adding to the book for a fee.
Personally I feel that the 1st level spells don't have to be ritual, but you still get the ritual book. Starting you off with just the 2 spells.
The Ritual Caster feat works quite differently, and is not really necessary for a Druid.
Druids don't have to learn new spells, they have access to their full spell list. However, you have to prepare a certain number (Wisdom Modifier + Druid Level) of spells after each Long Rest. The spells you prepare have to be of a level you have spell slots for. If any of the spells you have prepared this way have the Ritual tag, you can choose to spend an additional 10 minutes to cast it as a ritual instead of using up a spell slot.
Ideally a Druid will have a Wisdom score of at least 16 to start, so you could prepare 4 (3 Wis + 1 Druid level) spells at 1st level. You only have 2 spells slots though, so picking a couple of ritual spells can help outside of combat as you can still cast them without using those precious spell slots.
