I saw a closed thread about this, but it was about Fighters and is a few years old, so I wanted to ask for clarification. With Integrated Armor as a Warforged from Eberron, would I receive the +1 AC, as well as being able to integrate any kind of armor and experience its armor bonus, without it counting as wearing armor for the sake of a Monk’s unarmored defense?
No for integrating the armor, as you wear armor by donning it, which you still do as a warforged, you just don it in a manner that 1) takes longer, 2) can't be removed easily. So integrating armor as a warforged would eliminate the AC calculation option given by Unarmored Defense.
That said, the +1 to AC is separate from any armor you might wear/integrate, so that would work with Unarmored Defense
Edit: For crystal clarity, the feature is called Integrated Protection in the current (final, unless the 2024 books change it) version.
No, you're still armored. You still don the armor and nothing says you're not wearing it.
For a bit of trivia that you may find persuasive, the 3.5 version of Warforged (their origin) used wording like this: You are considered to be wearing ____ armor.
Just remember that Unarmored Defense and any Armor worn would be separate AC calculations... so even if you did do some multiclassing or feat choices to wear armor as a Monk, you would still have to choose between the Armor's AC or your Unarmored Defense AC. But if you do go with Armor you are considered to be wearing Armor, which has a few downsides for a Monk... most importantly, you lose all your Unarmored Movement bonuses. So if you're willing to sacrifice that for higher AC it's an option, but you always get a +1 to AC as a Warforged no matter your class or whether or not you're wearing armor, so you're better off just making sure you have high DEX & WIS and just relying on your Unarmored Defense.
