I have a question about the druid spell, Flame Blade. My druid wants to know if she can attack with the Flame Blade that she cast as a Bonus action on the same round it was cast. I said no because she cannot cast her spell and then get the attack action in the same round. She is very analytical and wants to know why. Can someone with a better rules lawyer brain lay this out?

Your player is correct... Flame Blade is a Bonus Action spell. It is fully intended to be used exactly as she attempted.

Yes you can use your action to make a melee spell attack with the Flame Blade on the same turn you cast it.
A character gets to do movement, an Action, and a Bonus Action on their turn - they can do these in any order.
