The key phrasing in that feat is "Spell you cast", so it applies for Spell Sniper for sure, and it applies if the item allows you "to cast" a spell rather than create an effect.
Yeah. "Spells you cast ignore resistance to damage of the chosen type." Anything that "you cast" would work for the feat.
Random example: Wand of Fireballs "This wand has 7 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast the fireball spell (save DC 15) from it. For 1 charge, you cast the 3rd-level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend."
So for this item, it allows you to cast fireball. So the elemental adept feat would work here.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
If a magic using character has Elemental Adept does that apply to spells cast from an item? What about Spell Sniper?

Excellent. Thank you for the explanations.
