Would you say that Truesight is magical in nature? More specifically a type of innate divination magic that has been adapted into a sense, or would that not just be True Seeing?
I have been looking for definitive answers regarding this. I am of the opinion that if you are granted Truesight by way of True Seeing (Divination Spell) being cast on your particular character, then Nondetection works and blocks the Truesight. But, if the ability is permanent and does not require the casting of the spell, then Nondetection does not work.
It depends on the source of Truesight - if it was granted by something magical then it would be considered magical; if it was an innate ability of a creature, then check for the word magic (or something similar) in the ability's description.
I don't think Truesight would be considered a "magical scrying sensor" for the purposes of the nondetection spell.
The Nondetection spell specifies that somebody under its influence can't be targeted by any divination magic. In the case of the True Seeing spell and the Truesight sense, the caster will usually target himself which grants him the sense in question. Thus, Nondetection would simply fail to hide them from Truesight IMO.
According to the Monster Manual entry, Truesight is not necessarily magical in nature, especially as a creature's special sense. Just like Darkvision, while also a spell, is a special sense just like Truesight.
