I was wanting to bring an amulet on storage into my game but I wanted to know if a creature would have a bag of holding on them or if the amulet would be placed in a bag of holding, would that cause them both to be destroyed?
I am not familiar with the Amulet of Storage, but if it contains an extradimensional space like magic items such as Bag of Holding or Handy Haversack do, then, normally what happens is that those items usually contain such effect;
Placing a bag of holding inside an extradimensional space created by a Handy Haversack, Portable Hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane.
So it depends of the wording of the item, and if the DM determine its a similar item as those mentioned, or not. If it's a homebrewed item, posting it would better help us answer the question though.
If you decide to make this item available to your Players, and it is home brew, you can have it do anything that you'd like.
Though I would take convention and Plaguescarred's advise on its construction. I would also be very clear as to the dimensions and carrying capacity of the item. What do you want the players to carry in the item? Coins, armor, arrows, a cart, a boat, a ladder, Dead party members, Live party members, Objects de art, statues, books, lances, a catapult, animals of unusual size?
You, the DM need to envision what its use is and then limit that for the players. Otherwise you will be making snap decisions about it most of the time.
