My party asked me about their Ioun stone they get last game. And here is a question, can warlock cast his invocation Fiendish Vigor - giving him False Life at will on that stone to make it usable by another character. I thinking storing it as 1lvl spell but not using spellslot at all cause of that invocation. This make me little triggered for gamebreaking insta Temp HP
Hmm. In short, I don't think that would work (by which I mean I don't think a DM should let it work). The fiendish vigour invocation can only be used to cast that spell on the warlock (target yourself). So maybe someone could store the spell in the stone, but casting it would still only ever affect the warlock, not whoever is holding the stone. Storing the spell in the stone doesn't change the limitations on who it can be cast on...
That would be a funny reaction to it. Allow the storing to happen... and allow the casting to happen... and notify the Warlock that he has Temp HP. Except... if you do that... then they will use it against you... so... it is probably best to say it doesn't work.
