Question regarding multiple partners in the Wedding ritual for Ceremony.
So since the Ceremony's Spell Wedding feature doesn't specify marriage between two humanoids only, a DM could rule polygamy is ok in this realm/area and allow your group to wed. If so for the +2 AC increase to be in effect, would all members have to be within 30 feet of eachother, or as long as you are within 30 feet of at least one other person who was in the Wedding ritual with you work?
Just thinking if you married your party of 5 members could be pretty difficult to have them always bunched in a 30ft cube together vs having them be tethered to at least one other up to 30 feet away
I am not sure if you realize it but you used the exact wording from the wedding Ceremony to describe one of the scenarios.
In any case if a DM allowed this then each target would need to be within 30ft of all the other targets of the wedding.
For a counter example take a look at the Emboldened Bond feature from the Peace domain Cleric. It uses the wording "While any bonded creature is within 30 feet of another . . ." and allows you to congo line the effect.

Ahh k so unless your DM is nice, rules as written would say they all have to be within 30 feet of eachother and if at least 1 member is more than 30 feet away from any one other member the entire party loses the AC. I guess that does make more sense since its just a 1st lvl spell so would have more restrictions. Probably just best to give it to two members who are always frontline it sounds like.

Thanks
It still allows 49 people to benefit from the single casting of Ceremony, as long as they all huddle :-)

It would be difficult to have polygamy with the restriction "A creature can benefit from this rite again only if widowed."
So divorce won't allow it to be used again.
not if they are all married at the same time

Huh. I never realized you could totally do a group marriage with this.
