So, like the title suggests, I have a question about the lifespan of the Changeling race in Monsters of the Multiverse.
I don't own any version of the book (due to money reasons) and I couldn't find a satisfying answer to my question elsewhere, but I've seen the updated version on other sites and I really like it so I'd like to know the answer.
What is the lifespan of the new Changeling? I know the updated races no longer have an age section in their traits and the lifespan will instead be mentioned in the description of the race. But Changeling's description doesn't say one word about it. Does that mean that the lifespan has stayed the same as before or is there some extra text somewhere that explains that. I mean, they changed the creature type to Fey, which feels like a pretty significant change, so they could've changed the lifespan as well and I'm just missing something.
Will someone with more information please tell me.
Eberron Changelings live just under a Century, but the setting-agnostic Changelings from Monsters of the Multiverse do not have a stated average lifespan.
Fey being what they are, you're pretty much free to decide for your own table how long they live without it contradicting anything official.
The typical life span of a player character in the D&D multiverse is about a century, assuming the character doesn't meet a violent end on an adventure. Members of some races, such as dwarves and elves, can live for centuries. If typical members of a race in this book can live longer than a century, that fact is mentioned in the race's description."
This means that all playable races in the book live for a century unless stated in the race's description.
To answer your question, Changelings can live for a century in Monsters Of The Multiverse.
