VS: If you take the Disengage action, your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks for the rest of the turn.
Does Polearm Master defeat Disengage if a target uses Disengage before they enter the PA's reach? IE They want to use Disengage, close with PA and then Action surge to teach him a lesson?
Polearm Master gives you an additional trigger for an Opportunity Attack, but it's still an Opportunity Attack. Therefore if your potential target has taken the Disengage action, it prevents you from making that attack. Now, if you have Polearm Master AND Sentinel, you can still smack people who get close to you, it's why those two feats are a popular combination. :)

No as SirEvangelos said if an enemy disengage before entering the reach of a Polearm Master, it will not provoke an Opportunity Attack even if it has Sentinel as well. It would do so if leaving it though.

Adding to this correct point, sentinel creates an exception to the disengage action, but only when leaving the reach, which means it really doesn't interact directly with PAM at all when it comes to someone entering the reach.
Creatures provoke opportunity attacks from you even if they take the Disengage action before leaving your reach.

Hello,
Just a clarification from the hivemind please.
Polearm Master: While you are wielding a glaive, halberd, pike, quarterstaff, or spear, other creatures provoke an opportunity attack from you when they enter the reach you have with that weapon.
VS: If you take the Disengage action, your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks for the rest of the turn.

When you take the disengage action, there is no opportunity attack granted by the polearm master feat.

Thx, thought so. Just the specific wording made me want a 2nd opinion.
Sentinel specifically says they get an attack despite disengage when LEAVING your area, not entering it.

The rule for Disengage is still very clear here. Any movement you take does not provoke an Opportunity attack.
