I usually just use the app but I'm dming my first game to a few new players I made a few lvl 1 characters for them to choose from the first one shot as a tutorial I printed the sheets but I have no idea how to read the spell sheet it has all the spells even not prepared ones can someone explain how to read it. It's a little more complicated than the app
The printed sheets are assuming that you'll reuse the sheets until you level up, so for prepared casters (Artificers, Clerics, Druids, Paladins, and everything in a Wizard's spellbook) that means it's going to spit out a list of all the spells, and you'd pencil in what ones you're preparing on a given day, then erase and rewrite for the next day, etc. So for your newbie players, you'll want to either put a sticky note saying 'pick 5' (or however many) or use a PDF editor to delete the spells they're not going to use if the oneshot will not involve a long rest and you're picking the spells for them.
